Naloxone is safe to use, even when given to someone who is not experiencing an opioid overdose. But if the person is experiencing an opioid overdose, naloxone can rapidly restore breathing and save their life.

When every second counts, it's better to administer naloxone if an opioid overdose is suspected than to hesitate out of fear.

Carrying naloxone and knowing how to use it empowers you to act in an emergency and could make the difference between life and death.
