Grief and joy don’t have to take turns. 🤍

This summer I went back to Santa Barbara with a heart full of hope, uncertainty, and… yes, grief too.
What happened next, I can only call a series of small miracles. The right people appeared. Doors opened. My community welcomed me home.

And alongside all that grace, there was pain.

As a healer, my reflex has always been to do something about pain. This time, I practiced something simpler and harder: I put my hands on my heart, and I stayed.
What I discovered changed how I see healing, and how I see miracles.

I wrote about it on the blog: grief, grace, the Buddhist teaching of the second arrow, and a simple practice you can try today if you’re carrying something heavy.

What a May in Santa Barbara ✨
Four classes — Reiki I (twice!), Reiki II, and Reiki III/ART — four beautiful circles of healers stepping into their path. Watching someone feel Reiki in their hands for the first time, or unlock the Master symbols after years of practice… this work never stops moving me. 🙏

And we’re doing it all again in August — this time with ALL FOUR levels on the schedule. Reiki I, II, III/ART, and Reiki Master.

There’s something I’ve been thinking about lately, and I wanted to share it with you in my latest blog post.

A lot of people who come to me have tried things before. Therapy, retreats, workshops. And many of them say the same thing — it helped in the moment, but something didn’t quite make it home with them.

I wrote about why I think that happens, and what makes online sessions work differently than most people expect.

It’s not about convenience (though that matters too). It’s about something a little more interesting — the fact that your nervous system stores learning in context, and that doing the work in the same space where your patterns actually live changes how deeply it sticks.
