Choosing a yoga teacher training is a big decision. And when you find a beautiful program in Bali, surrounded by nature, inspiring teachers, and a wonderful community, it's easy to imagine yourself there already.

We understand the excitement. But we've also been around the yoga world long enough to know that the questions you ask before enrolling can make all the difference.

Who will actually mentor you? How much time will you spend practising the art of teaching? Will you learn to adapt poses for different bodies and abilities? And what will the experience really cost, beyond the advertised tuition?

One of our favourite suggestions is to speak with someone who has already completed the training. Ask them what they loved, what challenged them, and what they wish they'd known beforehand.

Because you're investing your time, your money, and a meaningful chapter of your life. You deserve to know what you're stepping into.

**For those of you who have completed a YTT, we'd love to hear from you: what's the one question you wish you'd asked before signing up?**

Your experience might help someone else make a beautiful decision.

Who decided that being good at yoga meant being flexible?

It's interesting how easily we can turn something as personal as yoga into another measure of how well we're doing.

We've all seen that person in class folding effortlessly into a pose while we're still trying to reach our toes. And perhaps, for a moment, we forget that we're working with two completely different bodies, histories, and experiences.

But think about the moments when you've surprised yourself on the mat. Perhaps you finally stopped forcing a movement, discovered a new way into a posture, or realised that your body was asking you to listen rather than push.

There is something wonderful about reaching that point in your practice where curiosity becomes stronger than comparison.

We're curious: what's something yoga has taught you that flexibility never could?

There is a moment in many yoga classes when a prop appears, and something in us resists.

The block. The wall. The chair. The strap.

Maybe we think it means we are doing less, or that everyone else has somehow moved ahead.
Then one day the prop changes everything. The floor feels closer. The breath has more room. The pose becomes less about reaching and more about understanding.

That is the beauty of good support. It does not make the practice smaller. It makes the practice more authentic.

Curious to know... which prop did you resist at first, and now secretly love?

The part of yoga we rarely talk about: Yoga becomes more useful when we stop treating it as an empty mind and start relating to it as a gentle return. Noticing distraction and returning is the practice, not evidence that it failed. Take one conscious breath.

There is usually a moment before teacher training when the question becomes hard to ignore.

Maybe you have been practising for years and want to understand what is really happening beneath the sequence. Maybe you already teach, but feel ready for more depth, more confidence, more language. Or maybe something in you simply knows it is time to study in a more intentional way.

That is why the path can look different.

200 hours to build the foundation.
300 hours to refine and deepen.
500 hours for the full immersive journey.

In Bali, our curated Yoga Alliance-certified trainings bring together practice, anatomy, philosophy, breathwork, meditation, teaching methodology, and integration, with time to live inside the study, not just complete it.

Some of the most meaningful yoga progress never makes it into a photo.

It's the moment you ask for another option instead of forcing your way through. The day you reach for a block, a wall, or a chair and realise support is part of the practice. The week you miss a few days and return without turning it into a personal failure.

Those shifts may look small from the outside, but they change the relationship you have with your body.

So tell us: what has changed in your practice that a photo would never show?
