CHAC reminds Michigan residents that open enrollment ends on January 15, 2022 – and in conjunction with our Navigator partners, we remain ready to assist anyone who still needs to sign up for affordable healthcare. With less than two weeks remaining in the open enrollment period, it’s important to act now.

Thanks to the Navigator Grant, in addition to offering free healthcare enrollment services, CHAC – along with ACCESS and 22 other partner organizations (see below for full list) – are ensuring that healthcare Navigator services are available throughout the state, to reach uninsured and underinsured Michiganders in all 83 counties.

Did you miss Open Enrollment for insurance through the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace? There is a new SEP that will allow for enrollment from now through May 15th. Call your local CHAC office for assistance submitting an application, reviewing plans, finalizing enrollment or healthcare questions anywhere along the process.

Keep up to date on Mackinac County vaccine availability.

Mackinac Straits Hospital is committed to vaccinating the community. We are working with LMAS Health Department, Sault Tribe of Chippewa, Mackinac County Emergency Management and other local partners to provide community COVID-19 vaccination clinics for those that qualify. As soon as we can confirm shipment of more vaccine, we will be announcing more clinic dates at our St. Ignace Campus and encourage people to make appointments at that time. Helen Newberry Joy Hospital will be holding a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Tahquamenon Area Schools Saturday, January 23, 8am - 5pm, by appointment only, no walk-ins available.

Congratulations to Chantelle MacArthur on winning the 50/50 today at the Dafter Lions Mud Racing June event. It was a beautiful day for both racers and spectators.
