Ways to say no to your provider that nobody taught you:

“No thank you.”
“I don’t feel comfortable with that.”
“Can we have more time?”
“What other options do we have?”
“I’d like to wait.”
Or just... “No.”

Here’s what I’m not saying. I’m not telling you to be argumentative. I’m not telling you to ignore medical advice. I love my nurses and OBs and most of them want exactly what you want.

Here’s what I am saying. You can decline any intervention. For any reason. That’s your right. And the calmest, kindest “no thank you” is still a complete sentence.

Most women never say it because nobody told them they could. Now you know. 🌙

For those who say “I’m just a mom.”

12 years ago I was there too. A mom just raising her kids. Then I stumbled upon doula work and now nearly 12 years and 300 births later, I see that this was THE perfect job for me—“just a mom.”

Now I am training other moms who want to pursue a new career, and I am here to tell you, you are the perfect doula.

You’ve already been the cheerleader. The advocate. The comforter. The one who can relate to and have the passion to support other mom’s and their children. Bc that is THE job description. That is the whole job.

Before these mommas joined this doula training program, almost every one of them told me some version of “I’m not sure I’m the type.” They couldn’t fully see it.

But they needed a change and took a chance. From there I witnessed each of them slowly come alive as they went through the course, let the material sink in, ask questions, realize passions, and grow more and more excited for this work. Then this past weekend, I watched each of them roll up their sleeves for our in-person workshop and practiced the hands-on work with such ease. With joy. With conviction.

Nobody here was “the type.” But they were mothers. Women who’ve been through it. The calm one, the one who shows up, the one everyone leans on. They’ve already BEEN training long before they started this program just by being a mother and now they are just months away from running their own business and bringing in income for something they are passionate about and so naturally built for. I just added the education, the techniques, and the credential.

This is what it looks like inside the program.

For the moms who have been home with the kids for years and feel unqualified for any new career.

I didn’t think being a doula was the perfect job for me until I became one. Then I realized that birthing my own babies, nurturing them, holding it all together year after year… that trained me for this work long before I ever had the title.

So I’m calling all the moms out there who need a new career. You’re more qualified than you think. And the rest? Absolutely teachable.

My program is rolling admissions and gets you pre-certified as a doula in as little as 3 months, so you can start making money. AND I mentor you closely through the next 6 months as you take your first steps working with clients.
