Today is Medical Assistants Day, and we’re excited to shine a spotlight on Megan Walls, our incredible Medical Assistant at MaineHealth Pediatric Cancer Care, Blood Disorders and IV Therapy. 🎉
Megan has been with us for five years, starting as a CNA and now, proudly working as a Medical Assistant.
“Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow in my role while getting to know so many amazing kids and families. I truly value being a familiar and comforting face for our patients—someone they can trust, laugh with, and feel safe around, especially when coming to the clinic can be difficult. What I enjoy most are the little moments that make each day special. Whether it’s sharing a smile, chatting while taking vitals, having a quick dance party, or hearing an excited “Meeeggannn!” followed by a big hug when I call a patient back, those moments remind me why I love what I do. Being able to bring a little joy and connection to an experience that can feel extremely overwhelming is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.”
When Megan isn’t caring for patients, you can find her on a cruise, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, and snuggling up with her sweet pup, Maple. Thank you, Megan, for all that you do!
