I’ve spent a lot of my life being the dependable one.
The one who says yes.
The one who helps.
The one who remembers.
The one who shows up.
The one who makes room for one more thing.
And sometimes I didn’t even realize I was saying yes because I *wanted* to.
Sometimes I was saying yes because I was afraid of disappointing someone.
Afraid they’d be upset.
Afraid they’d think I was selfish.
Afraid I wouldn’t be needed anymore.
But I’m learning something:
**Being needed is not the same thing as being valuable.**
Jesus loved people deeply, but He wasn’t available to everyone, all the time.
He withdrew.
He prayed.
He rested.
He walked away from the crowds.
And if Jesus made room for quiet, maybe I can too.
Maybe saying no doesn't mean I don't care.
Maybe protecting my time doesn't make me selfish.
Maybe I can be dependable without being constantly available.
And maybe you can too. 🤍
You don't have to explain every boundary.
You don't have to earn rest.
You don't have to exhaust yourself proving you're a good person.
**You are already loved.**
I'm learning to be more intentional about what—and who—I am available for.
Because I don't want to spend my life trying to be everything to everyone.
I want to be available for what God has actually asked me to steward.
If you're the dependable one, the people-pleaser, the one everyone calls when they need something…
**this one's for you.**
