A very proud mom moment! 💚
I’m excited to share something a little personal today. My daughter, a registered dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, recently co-authored two articles featured in Cutting Edge Nutrition and Diabetes Care, the peer-reviewed publication of the Diabetes Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Her articles explore two fascinating—and often overlooked—connections in diabetes care: “From Bedtime to Blood Glucose: The Connection Between Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Type 2 Diabetes” & “Sleep: The Overlooked Factor in Type 2 Diabetes”.
As a nutrition professional, I especially appreciate work that reminds us that health is rarely about looking at just one piece of the puzzle. Nutrition, sleep, metabolic health, physical activity, and other lifestyle factors are deeply interconnected.
And as her mom? I’m simply incredibly proud to see her expertise and hard work recognized in a peer-reviewed professional publication. ❤️
It also got me thinking: How often do you consider the connection between your sleep and your blood sugar or metabolic health? Have you ever noticed that a poor night of sleep affects your appetite, cravings, energy, or blood sugar the next day? I know it affects me!
