Sorry I've been so quiet friends. I've been fighting a nasty sinus bug this week. . . and it's left me feeling pretty bleh.
So, since I'm feeling a bit better, I thought I'd hop on and share a few tips and things I've done to start feeling better.
Tip #1 - REST. Yep. You are feeling tired for a reason. Your body is sending all available resources into fighting and repairing what ails you. The more you push and try to keep going on top of that the longer recovery takes.
Tip #2 - Only eat if your actually hungry. Many times when I'm sick I find that I don't want to eat anything. This isn't a flaw. It's a feature. Digestion takes tons of energy (see above tip) and fasting helps your body in repair mode. So don't feel obligated to eat something just because it's meal time.
Tip #3 - Pack in nutrition. Ok, when you do finally feel like eating, make sure you're eating things that are packed with nutrition (not just popping supplements) AND that those things are easy to digest. Some of my personal favorites include homemade chicken noodle soup (I make my own bone broth) and raw milk. Both are packed with good things the body needs and easy to digest.
Tip #4 - AVOID SUGAR. Sugar is your enemy, especially when you're feeling sick. Sugar basically puts your white blood cells into freeze mode so that they cannot attack invaders. So, especially when you're sick avoid sugar like the plague. (ie don't put any chocolate syrup in that glass of raw milk ok.)
