Happy Chinese/lunar New Year! 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse, which is all about passion, courage, creativity & freedom! It’s a time to be social, have gatherings & spread the joy!

The flip side of that is to remember to rest & restore, so you don't go into burnout. It’s a time to really focus on family, your close relationships & YOU! This year is calling for true authenticity & heart-centered self-expression.

We just completed the year of the Wood Snake. So we’ve (hopefully learned to) shed that which is no longer serving us. No more masks! (& there will be very little tolerance for bs 🤨)

In Chinese Medicine, Water controls Fire (if Fire is overactive/out of balance). So to keep the balance, it’s necessary to meditate & get in touch with your spiritual side. (Get out in nature, ground, breathe…).

They say that if you breathe that fire energy into your kidneys (the water element), the steam will rise & bring forth inner wisdom.

Hello, CO friends/family! Next Saturday, I’ll be hosting this event at Taspen’s Yoga studio. I have really come to love combining acupuncture with my music, in a community setting. I held 2 of these in a private setting before I left CT. & I’ll be doing this 1 on 10/11 & another 1 on 10/25 (again, at Taspen’s). I feel so honored to be able to do these offerings & it feels very apropos that this will be my 1st public event after moving back to CO. We’re doing a sliding scale for these, so that we can include anyone who wants to join.

Hello CO friends! I’ll be coming back 10/14-23 to do acupuncture & play a couple gigs - YAY! 🎉
Curtis Wedel & I will be playing at The Well at Bradford Junction (just shared the Event) on Friday 10/18, 6-9pm.
& again at Aspen Peak Cellars on Sunday 10/20, 2-5pm. (FYI - There are a couple parties already booked at the winery that day. So I’ve been told to inform people to please book a reservation if you plan on coming to that gig.)

Community style acupuncture allows you to receive acupuncture in a communal space and offers more accessibility to receive this support and care.

Melanie Fernandi L. Ac. will be facilitating treatments and weaving sound healing into this community session.

In Chinese Medicine, the changes of season create important shifts in our bodies & learning how to support our bodies through these changes can help to bring about more ease and flow as we emerge from winter into spring.

Wood is the element representing the season of spring in Chinese medicine. Think of a tree. Throughout the winter, it has conserved its energy and lays dormant (or so it looks from the outside). But its roots have been conserving and cultivating energy to get ready for the active spring and summer months, where it will flourish & blossom.

Spring is a time for new beginnings, as the seeds (we’ve been planting) start to sprout. Wood is about work, drive, and seeking new goals as we start to move again and continue to grow. We set intentions & new goals and then reach out to achieve them! Physically, be aware of your limbs, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons, as Wood governs all of these aspects. Both the liver & and gall bladder belong to the wood element. It’s time to detox - think Spring cleaning. ✨️

As a licensed acupuncturist since 1999, Melanie has dedicated herself as a practitioner, bringing healing and balance to her patients, utilizing many different modalities. .  

Melanie is skilled in massage, Reiki, and weaves craniosacral therapy into her treatments. Her additional training includes extensive study of intuitive healing, energy work & Chinese face reading.

Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
