I think sometimes people see the price of a sound bath and don’t realize how much goes into creating the experience.
A sound bath is so much more than an hour of someone playing instruments. There is a tremendous amount of preparation, intention, love, and care that happens before you ever walk through the door. The room is thoughtfully prepared, the lighting and ambience are created, the instruments are carefully chosen and arranged, and the entire space is intentionally held for you.
The instruments themselves are a significant investment. High-quality crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, and other sound-healing instruments are not inexpensive. They are tools that we invest in, care for, and continue to build upon because they are an important part of the experience we create.
And when a sound bath includes more than one practitioner or healer, there are additional people bringing their time, energy, experience, and gifts to the experience. There is also the time spent setting everything up, creating the atmosphere, facilitating the sound bath, and then breaking everything down afterward. What may look simple from the outside can actually involve hours of work before and after the sound bath itself.
But beyond the instruments, the setup, and the time, there is something else that matters to me: intention. We aren’t simply filling an hour with sound. We are creating a space where you can exhale, soften, receive, rest, and reconnect with yourself.
So when you invest in a sound bath, you aren’t paying only for the time you spend lying on your mat. You are investing in everything that goes into creating the experience you receive—the preparation, the instruments, the atmosphere, the practitioners, the energy, and the care that goes into holding the space for you.
For me, that care is at the heart of every sound bath I create. And I believe you can feel the difference when something is created with that much intention. ~Annie the Alchemist
