Walking up a mountain is nothing compared to what women endure during breast cancer treatment. With every step, we honored their strength and reminded one another why awareness and early detection matter. 🎀

A special thank-you to our partner, Peach Prive, for joining us in supporting women’s health! 💗

When your patient goes from CIN3 to a NORMAL Pap and NEGATIVE HPV after treatment?! Cue the music, because we are CELEBRATING! 🎶💃🏽🙌🏽

That’s me, Dr. Jocelyn Slaughter, with my bestie, Dr. Martinez. We’re both board-certified OB/GYNs, and nothing makes us happier than good news for our patients! 💕

And yes, the real MVP gets a little camera time too: our trusty colposcope! 🔎😂

Now, if you’re watching us celebrate and thinking, “Girl, what is CIN3?!” Let me explain:

🌸 Your Pap checks for abnormal cells on your cervix. Your HPV test checks for high-risk types of HPV that can lead to cervical cancer. These tests help us catch a problem before you even know it’s there.

🔎 That colposcope is our close-up view! It helps us examine the cervix when screening results need a closer look. Sometimes we take a tiny biopsy to find out what’s happening and whether you need treatment.

🚩 CIN3 means severely abnormal, precancerous cells. Sis, that does NOT mean stage 3 cancer. It isn’t cancer—but it needs treatment because those cells can become cancer over time.

🩺 That’s where LEEP comes in. It’s a procedure we perform to remove abnormal tissue using a thin wire loop with electrical current. We’re treating the precancer before it has a chance to become cancer. 💪🏽

So when those follow-up results say normal Pap AND negative high-risk HPV? Girl, that is reassuring news—and you already know your doctors are doing a little happy dance! 🎉

We care about you. We want you healthy. And getting to share good news after you’ve been worried about an abnormal result? That means so much to us. 🥹💗

But sis, keep those follow-up appointments—even when you’re feeling great and your results are normal. Your care doesn’t stop with one good test.

Let this be your girlfriend reminder: check whether you’re due for cervical screening, follow up on abnormal results, and make time for yourself. We want more moments worth celebrating! 💕

🎶 Of course it hurts…sometimes. But sometimes fibroids don’t hurt at all!

Fibroids are noncancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus. Some women experience painful cramps, heavy periods, pelvic pressure, or back pain—while others have no symptoms and only discover their fibroids during a routine exam or ultrasound.

Possible symptoms include:

💕 Heavy or prolonged periods
💕 Painful cramps
💕 Pelvic pain, pressure, or fullness
💕 Lower-back pain
💕 Frequent urination
💕 Fertility or pregnancy concerns

Whether they hurt or not, it’s important to understand what’s happening inside your body. If you’re experiencing heavy bleeding, pain, or pelvic pressure, schedule a visit with The Healthy Woman for an evaluation.

🎶 This one’s for all my girls! 💕💕

What exactly is a Pap smear? It’s a screening test that checks the cells of your cervix for abnormal or precancerous changes—helping us identify concerns early. 🌸

You may not need a Pap smear every year, but you still need to stay current with your annual women’s health visit. Your clinician will let you know when your next Pap smear is due based on your age and health history.

Ladies, don’t let this year pass without taking care of YOU! Go book your visit with The Healthy Woman today. 💗
