I have been with Dr. Gadon for many years now, she is absolutely incredible! Extremely personable and genuinely cares about her clients. Dr. Gadon is also very reachable, which I have found to be quite rare. I will never go to a different psychiatrist, I trust Dr. Gadon immensely. Substance use disrupts more than the brain's reward system. Alcohol, opioids, and stimulants all interfere with the endocrine system — the network that regulates testosterone, estrogen, thyroid function, and cortisol.

That's why people in early recovery often describe symptoms that sound nothing like addiction:

Fatigue that sleep doesn't fix
Low mood or flat affect months after the last use
Weight changes without a change in habits
Loss of libido
Brain fog and poor concentration
