A w**d is whatever we’ve decided doesn’t belong. Botanically speaking, the word means nothing. There’s no taxonomic category called “w**d.” Even crazier, there’s also no shared biology or defining characteristic that scientifically unites these plants.
So why are your neighbors trying to kill medicinal and magical plants? They might not know any better. Herbalists, healers, and witches, on the other hand... We pay attention to the things others overlook. A few to look for on your next walk 👇
🌱 Dandelion — liver tonic, divination, wish magic
🌱 Mugwort — dreaming, psychic vision, menstrual support 🌱 Nettles — iron-rich spring tonic, protection, boundary work 🌱 Plantain — folk first aid, wound drawing, grounding
🌱 Mullein — respiratory herb, protective smoke, “hag’s taper” 🌱 Red Clover — blood builder, fertility, prosperity magic
🌱 Yarrow — wound healing, divination, boundary protection 🌱 St. John’s Wort — solar, mood-supportive, midsummer magic
🌱 Burdock — liver, blood cleansing, uncrossing
Which “w**ds” did we leave out?
