When you’ve spent years being the person everyone can count on, letting someone show up for you can feel surprisingly uncomfortable.

For some, independence isn't just a personality trait. It's something they learned out of necessity.

But relationships aren't meant to be one-sided. You deserve support, care, and understanding just as much as the people you give those things to.

Learning to receive can take practice, especially when you've spent so much of your life believing you had to handle everything on your own.

ADHD can be funny. Looking for your phone while talking on your phone? Funny.

Realizing you’ve been paying for a subscription you meant to cancel 14 months ago? Less funny.

When attention, organization, impulsivity, time management, emotional regulation, or getting things DONE starts making everyday life harder, that’s where we can help.

At Murray Center, we offer ADHD testing for kids and adults, therapy, executive functioning support, parent coaching, school recommendations,
and medication management.

Because sometimes you need a better system.
Sometimes you need treatment.
And sometimes you need someone to figure out why you’ve purchased four planners and somehow none of them know about each other.

We can help with that.

Big worries? Let’s take it slow. Sunny’s a sloth. This is his area of expertise. 🦥💛

Try box breathing with Sunny:
🌬️ Breathe in for 4
☀️ Hold for 4
🌬️ Breathe out for 4
☀️ Pause for 4

Trace a square with your finger as you go. Keep your breaths gentle, and use a shorter count if that feels better!

Parents, try it together when everyone’s calm. Skills are easier to use during a big feeling when they’ve had a little rehearsal.

Worry Shmurray: Because anxiety happens, but it doesn’t have to run the show.

When you’re used to being the one who keeps everyone happy, stepping back can feel surprisingly uncomfortable.

You might worry that you’re being selfish, unhelpful, or letting someone down. But allowing others to navigate their own feelings and disagreements is not the same as abandoning them.

In fact, healthy relationships need room for people to express frustration, experience disappointment, and work through conflict without someone immediately rushing in to make it better.

For parents, this is an important distinction to model for children, too. We can teach kids to be kind, empathetic, and supportive without making them responsible for how everyone around them feels.

Sometimes, the most helpful thing you can do is give someone space to work it out. 💛

When kids feel anxious, it can be hard to pull their attention away from racing thoughts. 💭

Sensory grounding techniques offer a simple way to help children reconnect with the present moment by focusing on something they can physically feel.

The best part? Coping tools don't always have to be complicated! Sometimes, everyday objects can help kids practice managing big feelings.
Save this one for your family's anxiety toolkit! 🧊💙

Blame can feel clarifying in the moment. It gives us somewhere to put the frustration, disappointment, or hurt.

But when we rush too quickly to decide who is at fault, we can miss the more useful question: what part of this is actually ours to respond to?

Accountability does not mean excusing someone else’s behavior, and it does not mean taking responsibility for things that are not yours. It means noticing where your own choices, boundaries, reactions, and next steps still belong to you.

Sometimes the most empowering shift is not figuring out who deserves the blame. It is figuring out what you want to do next.
