Hand tattoos are on a different level! While Liz LOVES designing and tattooing them, they always come with a discussion before booking…

They’re quite a bit different to get and to heal, and take wear and tear differently than other areas of the body. They have a higher rate of fall out, and what does stay softens and spreads more than it would in other skin. And while tattoos in general are far less taboo than they used to be, hands still have a bit of a rocky reputation and should be given LOTS of consideration before jumping into. They can greatly impact employment and personal relationships for the rest of your life, but when done right they can easily become a collectors favorite piece!

People get tattoos for countless reasons, but possibly one of the most common that we see is to memorialize loved ones lost. Often times the first instinct is to get a name, birth date, and death date (which is totally fine of course!) but we always recommend considering something a little more special to the relationship you had to that person… did you have a special inside joke with them? Or was there something that was yours and their “thing” like fishing, road tripping, coffee dates, or a love for books? What is something that ALWAYS makes you think of them, and puts a smile on your face?

If you’ve been thinking on a memorial tattoo and just weren’t sure where to start, Liz is always happy to do some brain storming and help bring something special to life.
