☕Even though National Coffee with a Cop Day was earlier this week, we're still smiling about our visit with the Chesnee Police Department!

Individuals at our Cheslea location enjoyed great conversations, learned helpful safety tips, plus there were plenty of smiles, and a sweet treat. But more than anything, it was the chance to spend time with some of the officers who help keep our community safe. Thank you for stopping by and making the morning so special! ✨ A Heartfelt Thank You! ✨

As we count down to this weekend's Annual Gala, our hearts are full of gratitude for the incredible generosity of the Charles Lea Center Foundation, led by President Marisa Cecil.

For years, the CLC Foundation generously supported this beloved tradition, helping create unforgettable memories for the individuals we serve. While the gala was paused during the COVID era, we're thrilled to bring it back and grateful for the CLC Foundation's continued support through a generous $9,000 gift.
This year's "A Night in Vegas" Gala will be filled with food, music, dancing, and celebration, all centered on the amazing individuals we serve. As staff recently came together to create the event's centerpieces, we were reminded that special nights like this are made possible by a community that believes in creating meaningful experiences.

Thank you to the CLC Foundation for helping us revive this cherished tradition and create new memories for years to come. 🎲♠️🎉

This year's theme, Celebrating Value & Talent, reminds us that people with disabilities make our workplaces stronger through their skills, perspectives, and dedication.

At the Charles Lea Center, our Career Prep program helps individuals develop job skills and connect with meaningful employment opportunities in the community.

Throughout October, we'll be spotlighting success stories and employers who are helping build a more inclusive workforce.

The Charles Lea Center was proud to be part of the recent 2026 SCAAIDD Annual Conference, Mission Possible: Supporting Every Ability!

Our team joined professionals from across South Carolina to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance opportunities for people with disabilities.

We are especially proud of our leaders who helped make this conference a success:

⭐ Lakeila Jeter, CLC Vice President of Community Supports, served on the SCAAIDD Conference Committee and presented during the conference.

⭐ Omar Chirinos, CLC Vice President of Enterprise Technology & Innovative Services, also shared his expertise as a conference presenter.

⭐ Brittany Ezell, Assistant Director for Supportive Living, assisted with conference operations and helped ensure a successful event experience for attendees.

Their leadership, knowledge, and commitment reflect the Charles Lea Center's mission of supporting every ability and creating opportunities for people to thrive.
