Let’s be real, regardless of our age we all still have a dream job, right?

It’s no surprise that with the amount of time I spend observing nature, Park Ranger, is totally one of my fantasies. I went old school (No AI) and found a nice wooden uniform cut out to jump behind and ask a stranger to snap a pic of me so I could look “legit”.

This was on a much needed trip to help me reset my mind and body for the season…When I know the leaves are working their way up to falling down I know it’s time for energetic hygiene.

Realizing that our energy is affected by more than just our physical activity. Things like our commitments, routines, environments, conversations, expectations, and even the way we approach wellness can affect how nourished or depleted we feel.

Today when I teach our Monday Community Class Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fredericksburg as I do every Monday, I’m gonna keep us connected to the idea of having greater awareness of what we are giving our energy to, so we can be a bit more honest with ourselves about where it might be draining us.

any confessions????

I Katrina Dill was just sharing with someone today that the reason I love Qigong is once you learn it, once you implement it into a daily practice it will EMPOWER your health journey...and I love seeing it on a global stage like this..."Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Aug. 12 that she practices an ancient Chinese mind-body practice, qigong, and wants to establish a Mexican Qigong Federation to let her country discover its benefits,"

I came into this practice authentically - because I needed help, I was in pain, I was chronically sick and I was tired of watching my quality of life diminish.....NOW I get to help people everyday learn it's many benefits as a Master Medical Qigong Practitioner

“As president, it’s very difficult to go out for a run, so now I’m practicing this discipline ,” Sheinbaum said while addressing a press conference and

Sometimes it’s helpful to look at an ordinary day and ask: Where did I make room for what matters to me?

Did I give a conversation my full attention?
Make time for something that nourishes me?
Pause before agreeing to something I didn’t have the capacity for?

Those everyday choices deserve our attention. They’re how we make room for the things we say are important.

This week, choose one thing you value and give it a little more space in your day. Then notice how that feels.

True confession: put a pile of my favorite books in front of me and apparently I have at least ten minutes of things to say.

These are books I’ve cooked from, learned from, and returned to as my relationship with food and my own body has changed.

And at 44 — which I’m still counting as early forties — I’m curious about what this stage of life is asking me to notice.

One thing I’m exploring is Mindy Pelz’s work on intermittent fasting and women’s changing needs. I’m thinking about creating a small group where we can read, reflect, and check in with each other along the way.

Interested in exploring it with me? Leave a comment or send me a message. I’m still shaping what that might look like.

And if you’d like my full ten-minute ramble through the stack of books, you can watch it here:

A quick share from my week off… taking my own advice and quieting the noise, giving my mind and body space to settle into rhythm with nature.

10/02/2026

The trees are getting ready to let go.
And I’m asking myself what I might be ready to let go of, too.

As the season changes, I like to start by reducing noise.

What am I working on that I’m not going to finish this year?
And can I let that be okay?

What isn’t nourishing me?
What is taking more energy than I want to give it?
Where could I use a little less stimulation?

Sometimes that looks like taking a car ride in silence.
Sometimes it means letting a project wait.

Small changes can help us prepare to go inward.
We can notice what we’re carrying and decide what still needs to come with us.

In this video, I’m sharing a few ways I’m thinking about that shift, including bringing more awareness to how we breathe.

What could you give yourself permission to set down this season?

We had to cancel today’s Qigong class because of an issue with the venue. We’re sorry for the short notice.

As a reminder, there is also no class next Monday, October 5. We’ll be back to our regular schedule on Monday, October 12!

Have a great day!
