Which growth hormone peptide is right for you?

There’s no one-size answer. Sermorelin, CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are all researched for their relationship to the body’s natural growth hormone production, but they differ in how they work and how long they act. That’s where a personalized conversation helps.

Welcome to Peptides Explained, where each week, we address a specific peptide, what it does, and what it could help with.

This week’s peptide: KPV

KPV is a tripeptide, meaning just three amino acids, taken from the end of alpha-MSH, a hormone the body already produces. Researchers have studied it for its relationship to inflammatory signaling, with the most focus on gut inflammation and intestinal barrier health. It has also drawn interest in skin and broader immune research.

Much of the existing research is preclinical, which is part of why understanding the science matters more than the hype.

At TWC Peptides, we believe education should come first, always. Understanding how a compound works matters more than chasing a trend.

Immune support isn’t one thing. These three peptides are studied for very different parts of the picture.

ARA-290 is researched for its role in calming inflammatory signaling and protecting tissue and nerves. Thymosin Alpha-1 is studied for its relationship to T-cell development and immune regulation. LL-37 is the body’s own antimicrobial peptide, explored for front-line defense and wound healing.

None of them is a swap for the others, and that’s the point. Which one could make sense depends on what you’re actually trying to support, which is why every protocol at TWC Peptides starts with a conversation, not a guess.

If immune health is on your mind, which of these three would you want to know more about?

Most people arrive already knowing the name of a peptide they’ve read about. It’s a natural place to start, but it’s not the best one.

Starting with the goal changes the whole conversation. When you can say what you’re trying to support, whether that’s sleep, recovery, energy, or focus, your provider can look at it alongside your labs, your history, and any medications you’re taking, and then talk about which compounds are worth considering. The name you walked in with might still be the right one. Or the goal might point somewhere you hadn’t looked.

Goal first, compound second. It’s a simple order of operations that makes the rest of the process clearer.

Four healing and recovery peptides. Four different reasons someone might choose each one.

BPC-157 is one of the most widely studied compounds for tissue repair and gut support, which is why it’s often the starting point. Wolverine Blend pairs it with TB-500 for a broader recovery focus. GHK-Cu is studied for collagen and tissue remodeling, and KPV is studied for inflammatory signaling, with much of that research centered on the gut.

Recovery looks different for everyone, which is why these aren’t interchangeable. The right one depends on what you’re actually trying to support.

You can do almost everything right and still feel like something’s missing.

Healthy is a snapshot: the habits you’ve built, the food you choose, the workouts you keep showing up for. Supported is ongoing. It’s labwork that shows what’s happening underneath, a provider who adjusts as your life changes, and the understanding that what worked last spring might not be what your body needs this fall.

Wellness isn’t a place you arrive. It’s something you keep tending, and it’s okay to have help doing it.

Welcome to Peptides Explained, where each week, we address a specific peptide, what it does, and what it could help with.

This week's peptide: VIP

Short for Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide, VIP is a naturally occurring neuropeptide the body already produces, studied for its role in relaxing smooth muscle and regulating immune response. Its vasodilatory properties have made it a compound of interest in sexual health research, while its immune-modulating effects have drawn attention in broader inflammatory response studies.

At TWC Peptides, we believe education should come first, always. Understanding how a compound works matters more than chasing a trend.

Going out of town doesn’t have to mean pausing your protocol, but it does take a little planning.

Heat and light are the two things to keep away from your vials, which is why they should stay with you instead of riding in a checked bag or sitting in a parked car. If a vial has already been reconstituted, it needs to stay refrigerated, so it’s worth thinking through where it will be stored at your destination before you leave. Keeping everything in its original labeled packaging also makes things simpler when you’re moving through airports or hotels.

For anything specific to your trip, like a long flight or an extended stay, check the airline and TSA guidelines for medical supplies, and ask your provider before you go. Questions about travel are exactly the kind of thing we’re happy to talk through, so give us a call.

Five longevity peptides. Five different reasons someone might choose each one.

Epithalon is studied for its relationship to cellular aging and sleep rhythm. SS-31 and MOTS-c both center on the mitochondria, the part of the cell that produces energy: SS-31 is studied for supporting mitochondrial function, and MOTS-c for metabolic regulation and exercise capacity. Glutathione brings broad antioxidant support, and NAD+ is studied as a foundational piece of cellular energy and repair.

They all belong to the same conversation about aging, but none of them are interchangeable. The right one depends on what you’re actually trying to support.

BAC water shows up in almost every reconstitution conversation, but what actually is it?

BAC water is short for bacteriostatic water, sterile water with a small amount of benzyl alcohol added to help prevent bacterial growth. It's used to dissolve lyophilized (powder form) peptides into a liquid solution that can actually be measured and injected.

It's not interchangeable with regular sterile water, the added preservative is what allows a reconstituted vial to be used over multiple doses instead of requiring a fresh mix every time.

A small step, but one that's easy to get wrong if you don't know what it's actually for.
