This speech therapist is feeling LOVED! 💕 As I closed out my final week with Live Oak Children's Therapy, I was showered with parting gifts from the LOCT team and my client families. My heart is completely full knowing I’ve been able to make a real difference in the lives of the people around me.

To the Live Oak Team 🌳: Thank you for your friendship and support over the last five years, through all the highs and lows. I’ve learned so much during my time here and will truly miss seeing everyone every week!

To my client families 👪: Thank you for trusting me with your precious little ones. It has been an absolute joy to serve you. You have given me the sweet reassurance that I am doing exactly what I was meant to do- helping children communicate, find their voices, and grow their confidence. 🫶

While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I am so excited for what’s ahead. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in continuing to build my own practice, Rincon Roots Pediatric Therapy! 🌱 Cheers to new beginnings!

Happy AAC Awareness Month! 📱💬🎗️🗣️

AAC stands for Augmentative-Alternative Communication. A helpful way to break it down is:
• Augmentative means to supplement or support verbal speech. 💬
• Alternative means to replace verbal speech when it isn't yet functional. 📱

This includes everything from sign language and gestures to picture boards and high-tech speech-generating devices. Helping children gain functional communication through these tools is one of my absolute favorite clinical areas. Every child deserves a way to connect, share their ideas, and be heard. 🫶
