As a society, we have arrived at a transformational moment. Individuals who live with a disability, who have been disproportionately excluded from employment throughout history, have suffered job losses in great numbers due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As communities across the country usher in economic recovery, we call upon business, philanthropic and nonprofit leaders to make good on the promise of equality and inclusion by ensuring that people with disabilities do not get left behind.

MVLE and The Fedcap Group are proud to be leaders in creating paths to employment and economic wellbeing for people with disabilities. Learn more about how we can create an inclusive recovery from the US Department of Labor: COVID-19 Resources for Policymakers | U.S. Department of Labor (dol.gov)

Retirement, Wealth, and the Role of the Employer - The Fedcap Group

There are areas where employers can and should make a meaningful difference in the fiscal health of employees: paying a fair and living wage and affording an opportunity to build retirement wealth. These important priorities are inextricably linked, of course, and implicate the larger societal crosscurrents of racial and gender equity. Christine McMahon, CEO of our parent company The Fedcap Group, discusses the role of the employer: https://bit.ly/3auYPDk

Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health concern. That’s why each year, during the first week of October, organizations and participants across the country raise awareness of mental illness, fight discrimination, and provide support through World Mental Health Day.

Mental illness touches all of us. One in five adults has some form of mental illness. Mood disorders are the third leading cause of hospitalization for youth and adults aged 18-44. U.S. prisons are filled with people suffering from untreated mental illness. Serious mental illness costs the nation $193.2 billion in lost earnings and untold suffering.

Every day, MVLE and the companies of The Fedcap Group are improving the lives of individuals with barriers to economic well-being, including mental health concerns. We frame the delivery of our services through a workforce development lens with an eye towards long-term self-sufficiency.

New Season, Same Headwinds - The Fedcap Group

The fact that the male-female wage gap remains large after more than four decades in which women outnumbered men in college strongly suggests that for women, college alone still offers a very narrow path to economic wellbeing. Today, this pay disparity remains even when all compensable factors are controlled, meaning that women are still being paid less than men due to no attributable reason other than gender. Christine McMahon, CEO of our parent company The Fedcap Group, discusses in her blog: https://bit.ly/3Cv105T

Notwithstanding some notable shifts in post-secondary school enrollment and graduation rates, the job and pay results for women are not improving in any meaningful sense.
