Tis the season for reminders.

If you cancel your appointment last minute more than twice, you will be blocked from booking online. You will be required to have a credit card on file before I allow you to book again. I HATE doing this and I know things come up but if you hold a slot that means I can’t get other people in it. Too many people have held times and then didn’t show up or canceled the same day.

I have been far too lenient about this.

Also, please confirm your appointments from the text you receive the day before. If you are not getting a text or email please let me know.

Wow, ladies and gents, that was the way to end the summer. Holy cow, I’m beat!

Laser reminder: If you want to start laser, remember it needs to be 6 weeks from your last wax. I prefer no tan, though my machine can handle some color. Book a consult so we can discuss it.

Schedule update: Going into fall, my schedule is changing a bit — I’m no longer working Thursday mornings. All previously scheduled appointments will be honored, but with availability shifting, please book ahead of time.

A necessary reminder: If you’re sick, please reschedule. I have a little boy in my life who’s very important to me. Think of it this way: if a friend had a new baby, would you visit them while sick? If the answer is no, please reschedule with me too.

In the last 6 months, I’ve been exposed to mono and shingles — twice — all by people who knew they were sick. I love you all, don’t put me in that position. If I get sick, I can’t and won’t see anyone.

You did it — you sat through the wax, you survived, you're smooth! Now let's keep that skin happy so it stays smooth (and irritation-free). Here's your no-fuss aftercare guide:

The First 24 Hours 🕐

•Hands off! - We know it's tempting to touch, but let your skin breathe.
•Skip the sweat sessions. Give the gym, hot yoga, and steamy walks a rest day — sweat + fresh follicles = irritation invite.
•No hot tubs, pools, or scalding showers. Lukewarm water is your friend today.
•Loose, breathable underwear (cotton is queen) — nothing tight or synthetic rubbing where you just got waxed.

Days 2–3 💧

•Gently exfoliate- starting on day 2 or 3 to help prevent ingrown hairs (a soft washcloth or gentle scrub does the trick).
•Moisturize daily- with a fragrance-free lotion to keep skin soft and calm.
•No s*x or intense friction- for at least 24–48 hours — give your skin a minute to reset.

Ongoing TLC 🌿

•Keep exfoliating 2–3 times a week between appointments.
•Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize — dry skin = more ingrowns.
•Avoid tanning beds or direct sun on freshly waxed skin for 24–48 hours.
•Book your next appointment for 3–4 weeks out to keep hair growth in sync (and waxing less painful over time — promise, it gets better!).

Bumps Happen — Don't Panic 🙈

A little redness or tiny bumps right after your wax are totally normal and usually calm down within a few hours to a day. If irritation lingers or you notice signs of infection, give us a shout — we've got you.

I have a lot of bonuses at my job. One of the BIGGEST is when someone launches a new product/adventure.
If you haven't heard, Skincare Smart will be launching a Head Spa in the near future. Today, I got SPOILED!! Holy cow! Icey did a fantastic job. Imagine an hour of someone playing with your hair 🥰. It included all the hair goodies and a hair hydration mask, shoulder rubs, foot scrub, and a mini facial with facial lymphatic drainage.

To say I am completely relaxed is an understatement. Good thing I had an evening appointment because I am officially worthless.

After an enlightening conversation with a friend today. Please, for the love of all that is holy. Make sure your laser person went to an actual school. Not a “my friend taught me this” or “I was sold this.”
I was an esthetician before I went to laser school. This applies to hair removal, tattoo removal, or anything laser-related. Maybe I overthink things ( I mean, 100% I do), but I would rather you be safe than injured.
