Gus Gear Custom covers for central lines, ostomy pouches, feeding tubes, and more. I am Sarah, mother of 2 and founder of Gus Gear.

When my son, began his medical journey in 2007, I had no idea what was in store for us! The addition of a GJ tube, cecostomy, ostomy, and central line all happened over time and I had to find a way to keep Gus safe. The biggest challenge I faced was his central line because that is a life and death issue. I created the central line wrap to keep his line locked down and safe not only from accidental pulls, but from his fingers as well! Gus Gear’s product line includes central line wraps, ostomy pouch covers, line covers, and covers for other items like Farrell bags and urine bags. Everything Gus Gear makes has been used by us on a daily basis at one time or another. In this way, I have been able to personally critique and improve each cover to make it not only attractive, but functional. Each item is hand crafted with attention to detail. Gus Gear is constructed with quality fabrics that, when properly cared for, will hold up over time. I am very proud of and pleased with these wonderful products and am sure you will be too.

Today at 7 p.m., we're lighting a candle for the babies who were held for a moment and loved forever.

To every parent carrying a loss that others may not see: Your grief matters. You don't have to be okay today.

For many people, home parenteral nutrition (HPN) is more than a treatment. It becomes part of the rhythm of everyday life.

During HPN Awareness Week, October 11–17, we recognize the patients and families navigating home IV nutrition and the care teams and communities supporting them along the way.

HPN can help people who cannot get adequate nutrition through their digestive system receive the nutrition they need at home. But behind the therapy are real people balancing line care, infusions, school, work, travel, family time, and everything else that makes up a life.

This week, we're proud to join the Oley Foundation in raising awareness, sharing resources, and recognizing the HPN community.

Medical care affects more than the body.

For patients and caregivers managing complex medical care, there can be a mental and emotional weight that others don't always see.

The constant planning. The disrupted sleep. The responsibility of tracking so many details while still making room for school, work, relationships, family, and everyday life.

On World Mental Health Day, we're recognizing that part of the journey, too.

It's important to care for the person behind the medical needs and to remember the caregivers carrying so much alongside them.

The LOCK 3000 Belt secures feeding tubes, peritoneal dialysis catheters, and cecostomy tubes. It locks the tube down and absorbs force from tugs and snags, so there's less to manage and less to worry about.

The Single Safe Strip also provides the option to wrap tubing around the back of the Belt, as a third point of securement.

Less fuss. More freedom to just move.

Pediatric nursing means caring for a patient and teaching a family in the same conversation, often while managing a scared child. That takes clinical precision and a lot of patience.

Thank you to all the pediatric nurses!

Today is Vascular Access Specialty Day! 💙

For patients and families who rely on central lines and other vascular access devices, the expertise behind their care can make a meaningful difference in safety, comfort, and quality of life.

We're proud to join the Association for Vascular Access (AVA) in recognizing the vascular access specialists who bring their knowledge, skill, and compassion to patients every day.

This year's theme says it beautifully: “The Science of Access, The Heart of Care.”

To the vascular access specialists supporting patients and families throughout their medical journeys: thank you for all that you do.

Have you ever struggled with an IV or feeding tube connection that just won’t budge?

Sticky solutions, formula buildup, or an overtightened connection can make something that should be simple surprisingly difficult. And reaching for pliers or another makeshift tool can risk damaging the line.

Fortunately, there's a tool designed specifically for medical connections. Yewtwist gives patients and caregivers extra grip and leverage to help loosen stubborn connections while protecting the tubing.

We’re excited to partner with and add another practical tool to help make everyday medical care a little more manageable.

Yewtwist is now available through Gus Gear. Get yours here: https://bit.ly/4xoroKM

A new episode of Rays of Hope is here!

Starting a medical journey can feel overwhelming — full of questions no one prepares you for. That's why we started this series: real stories from families navigating medical complexity, in their own words.

In this episode, we sit down with Kim Holland, mom of four, whose son Tripp is a NEC survivor living with short bowel syndrome. Kim opens up about balancing family life, trusting her instincts, and leaning on faith through it all.

Whether you're brand new to central lines, feeding tubes, or other medical devices, or years into it, we hope this reminds you: you are not alone.

The little details can make a big difference when a vest is part of everyday life.

The updated LOCK 2000 Vest was designed to make securement more comfortable and easier to manage, with thoughtful improvements including:

• A thinner, lower-profile fit under clothing
• Softer materials for greater comfort
• Adjustable straps to allow for a secure fit that will stay comfortably in place
• Durable construction for dependable daily protection

Daily central line care comes with enough challenges. The LOCK 2000 Vest is designed to make securement one less thing to worry about.
