What a boo-tiful day for Trunk or Treat! 👻

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and made this year’s Trunk-or-Treat one to remember! From the creative trunks and fun Halloween costumes to the smiles, candy, and incredible community spirit, it was such a special day. A big shoutout to the Maryland Heights Fire Department and all of our amazing trunk hosts for helping make the event extra memorable! 🚒🍬

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined in the fun and helped make this our largest turnout yet. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🧡

The Productive Living Board for St. Louis County Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (PLB) is surveying individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), their families, and community partners to help prioritize funds and better understand what services are most needed in St. Louis County.

Variety St. Louis is grateful for our continued partnership with PLB of St. Louis County, whose funding helps us provide adaptive equipment and assistive technology to children with disabilities in our community.

So if you are an individual living with an IDD, their family members, community partners and others who live or provide services in St. Louis County please use this link or the button below to complete their short Community Needs Assessment survey. It will take about 5 minutes.

The survey is open through Saturday, October 31st.

LAST CALL to register for Variety’s Trunk-Or-Treat! 🚨🎃

We’re gearing up for a spook-tacular afternoon of costumes, candy and Halloween fun on Saturday, October 17, from 4:00–5:30 p.m. in the Variety St. Louis parking lot, and we’d love to have you join us!

🚘 Want to host a trunk? There’s still time to sign up and help make this event a treat for our Variety Kids, Teens, Families and Alumni!

🍭 Just planning to trick-or-treat? Please register, too! Knowing how many treaters to expect helps our trunk hosts prepare enough goodies for everyone.

For Emmy, occupational therapy became a place to learn, grow and discover more about herself. After countless sessions of hard work and reaching many milestones, she recently celebrated a very special achievement: graduating from OT! 🩵🎉

From therapy to Adventure Camp to Theatre, Variety has been part of Emmy’s journey, helping her build confidence, learn new skills and discover what she can do. Her goodbye to her OT, Ms. Michelle, was one filled with happy tears, a big hug and so much gratitude.

We’re excited to share that Variety Adventure Camp is growing!
Due to continued demand for camp, we’re planning to pilot a dual Summer Camp model in the summer of 2027, creating space for more kids to experience the fun and connection of Variety's Adventure Camp.

With this expansion, unfortunately there will be no Winter Camp held in December 2026. While we know some campers and families may be disappointed by this change, this temporary adjustment is an important step toward our long-term goal of offering more camp opportunities for more local kids.

What will dual Summer Camp look like?
In 2027, two sub-camps will run simultaneously, with 50 campers in each session. This new model will allow us to expand our capacity while continuing to provide the inclusive, individualized camp experience that Variety campers know and love.

We’re excited about what this next chapter will make possible and look forward to welcoming even more campers to Adventure Camp in the future. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to grow! ❤

If your child is under the age of 21, lives within one of the 30 counties we serve in the STL region, and has a physical or developmental disability, they qualify to receive a free standard bike! ⁠

Bikes give children freedom and independence to explore the world around them and interact with family and friends. ❤️⁠
