Coffee or tea? What if I told you there’s a little crossover between the two?

Did you know coffee comes from a fruit? And that fruit can be used to make a drink called cascara!

Coffee cherries have more to offer than just the beans we know and love. Who knew your morning cup had such an interesting backstory?

Now I have to know: Are you team coffee or team tea? Or are you like me and just here for anything interesting you can put in a mug?

BIG ol’ Basil harvest!
What ever will I do with all these aromatic plants? I’ll tell you my ideas…

Drying for teas, simple syrups, seasonings, and more! Tulsi is infusing into local wildflower honey and extracting in alcohol.

Cinnamon basil could make a delightful candied flower maybe? Has anyone tried that?

Finally, I might freeze some leaves for later use. I could even make up some pesto now to freeze for later enjoyment.

The options are endless

A little shop update!

I’ve given my shop page a much needed refresh, so you can now browse my seasonal catalogue and see what’s currently available like my current fall tea blend.

It’s Mushy season!
A few days after a good rain followed by our warm sun makes great conditions for mushroom friends. I am definitely not a mushroom expert, but it’s something on my list to learn more about. Someday I’ll get my hands on a little field guide and really dig in. For now, I just appreciate these cool characters during my walks.

Well this weekend was memorable that’s for sure!

It was Forest Lakes The Yoga Branch 2nd anniversary, and they invited me out to be a vendor. It was spur of the moment, but I recalled joining for last years celebration as a guest and telling everyone how I want to eventually do events like this as an herbalist. That is where I met a lot of nice folks for the first time, who even remembered me from last year!
We were against the elements for a majority of the time, but stayed in good spirits. I also made an amateur mistake with forgetting my sampling pump for my tea dispenser 🤦‍♀️😅 but everyone was so kind and supportive through it all.

Thank you for the opportunity to learn and grow 🥰

Yesterday was wonderful, and I couldn’t be more thankful! I got sick last week and was so worried I wouldn’t be able to make it. Thankfully I leaned on my herbs just enough to get better in time! Of course I’m still in that period of convalescence, so my brain keeps hitting vacation mode…
A huge thank you to Outrageous Tan once again for inviting me out. This was actually my very first vending event, so it was nice to rip the bandaid off and I am excited to do more in the future!

Yesterday marks the first day of this new season! Some are jumping for joy while others grumble under their lightly foggy breath. I am definitely a good blend of the two, but I’ve learned that giving myself something to look forward to can help me have a positive perspective!

Everything is just about ready for this event! I will be making a lil appearance at Outrageous Tan this Sunday 9/27. Come out and ask me about Colon Coffea and my special ingredient Cascara! This is my limited seasonal release that I am so stoked to finally share. Currently hogging all my made up bags for the event, and after it will officially be released in stores next week
