Change can bring forth many feelings. Recently, management of the forest near our indoor space included the removal of hundreds of trees as well as destruction of plants and bushes on the forest floor. The result is a desolate looking landscape that feels dead.
Small plants like the mountain peonie and mahala mat might never return because they rely on shade to grow. The large manzanita bushes that the chickadees would eat from are gone.
As the the Autumn season transitions the forest is quieter than ever. We’re asking the question: “why did this approach to forest management include so much destruction?”
It’s important to spend time in places where humans have had an effect and to wonder if we could have done better. It’s important, too, to consider what you can do to make things better.
Bliss Experiences aren’t always pleasurable. They are intended to help you connect with nature and your self so you can both feel well and effect change.
