Family Resource Center Family Resource Center is committed to children of SJC and the adults who care for them. Please comment respectfully.

Family Resource Center is committed to the health and well-being of children in San Joaquin County, and the adults who care for them. Serving the community since 1980, our mission is to provide resources to parents and childcare providers to encourage healthy growth for the children in their care. We do that by providing advocacy, information, education, nutritional support, training, and childcare services – directly and by financially supporting community childcare providers – so that every child, and parent, has access to safe and stimulating care outside the home. Through the provision of the county’s 211 system, housed and administered by Family Resource & Referral services, we offer new and current residents referral and access to information about child care, nutritional services and other programs available in San Joaquin County that support broader community health. Disrespectful comments will not be tolerated and will be deleted. If there is an issue and you would like to discuss person-to-person, please call (209) 461-2937.

Thank you to San Joaquin County Supervisor Rickman for touring FRC and learning more about the work we do through 211 San Joaquin and connecting families to the resources they need including child care. Since launching in April 2015, 211 has handled nearly 600,000 contacts from families across the county. In 2025 alone we received 8,713 calls from Tracy, Mountain House, Ripon, and Escalon, where our team connected neighbors to help with housing, utilities, food, and child care. We appreciate the time he spent with our staff, and we look forward to working with him to help families thrive across San Joaquin County.

Meet Isaiah Battle, our Child Advocate of the Year. 🏆

As Program Manager for Youth Services at the Amelia Ann Adams Whole Life Center, Isaiah creates safe, supportive spaces where Stockton and San Joaquin County’s young people can build trust, confidence, and a belief in their own futures.

Isaiah draws on his own lived experience to show young people that their circumstances don’t have to determine where they go next, and he sees each of them first as someone with potential, gifts, and dreams rather than through a mistake, a system, or a neighborhood. That is why youth who don’t always trust adults or traditional systems trust him. He leads Wonka’s Crib, Young Kings, and Kings in Transition, and he provides case management and reentry support to system-impacted young people, and in all of it he meets young people where they are and keeps showing up.

Isaiah has helped hundreds of young people, and his impact shows in the ones who seek him out for advice, call him when they need support, and know an adult will be there. Every young person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported, and Isaiah makes that true every day.

Congratulations, Isaiah, and thank you for all you do.

Child care providers keep this county working, and many of them carry costs that no family or employer ever sees. In the first video of our series, Amy Vang and Jeremy Meyer, owners of Home Sweet Home Daycare, a home-based provider in Manteca, brings this reality to life. Family Resource Center has served San Joaquin County families since 1980, and we are working to bring these challenges into view for our families, providers and employers alike. Follow along as we share the full picture.
