🕯️ END OF WATCH — SEPTEMBER 30, 2026 🕯️
Honoring Steven “Steve” Robinson & Jessica deVries
REACH Air Medical Services

We honor pilot Steven “Steve” Robinson and flight nurse Jessica deVries, who lost their lives when their medical helicopter crashed off Catalina Island during a patient transport mission.

Their mission was to save lives. Their service will never be forgotten.

Behind every emergency flight are people who bring skill, compassion, and dedication to someone facing a frightening moment. Steve and Jessica answered that call, serving patients and communities when help was needed most.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, colleagues, and the entire REACH air medical community. We also remember the patient who lost her life in this tragedy and keep her family, the two survivors, and everyone affected in our prayers.

May God bring comfort to those grieving and strength to those recovering. 🕊️

🚨 SAFETY MESSAGE

Honor those we have lost by caring for those still answering the call. Make time for thorough briefings, clear communication, and honest assessments of conditions. Support every crew member’s ability to raise a concern, and support one another after difficult missions and tragic losses. The cause of this crash remains under investigation; these are general safety reminders, not conclusions about what occurred.

WHEN ONE OF OUR OWN NEEDS HELP, WE ANSWER THE CALL. ❤️
Medicine in Bad Places is asking our friends, followers, first responders, and extended MIBP family to come together and support Erin and her boys as she continues her battle with brain cancer.
Unfortunately, Erin’s fight has become even more difficult. She is now losing her vision, making everyday life increasingly challenging and leaving her unable to work. At the same time, she continues to face chemotherapy, ongoing medical care, transportation to appointments, medical bills, and the everyday expenses that don’t stop simply because someone is fighting for their life.
This is one of those moments when community matters.
If you are able, please consider making a donation through the GoFundMe link. No amount is too small. Every contribution can help ease some of the financial pressure on Erin and her family and allow her to put her energy where it belongs: on her health, her fight, and her boys.
If you cannot donate, please share this post and her GoFundMe. Getting Erin’s story in front of more people can make a tremendous difference.
At MIBP, we have always believed that taking care of people goes beyond training, medicine, or responding to emergencies. It means showing up when someone needs us.
Today, Erin needs us.
Please keep Erin and her boys in your thoughts and prayers, and help us remind this family that they are not facing this fight alone.
We take care of our own.
