⚡ Sullivan County is part of an important conversation about Indiana’s energy future!
The announcement from Indiana Michigan Power, American Electric Power (AEP), Amazon, and X-energy brings a potential new chapter for the former Breed Generating Station site right here in Sullivan County.
While the project is still in the exploration phase, the potential for new investment, workforce opportunities, and economic development is an important conversation for our community.
As your Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, we believe it is important to stay informed, ask questions, build relationships, and help ensure our local businesses and workforce are part of these conversations.
Sullivan County is also participating in Indiana’s Advanced Nuclear Ready Communities Program, through the Indiana Office of Energy Development. As part of this effort, upcoming community forums will provide opportunities to learn more about advanced nuclear energy, ask questions, and better understand what this technology could mean for our county.
Growth brings opportunity, but preparation, communication, and community engagement matter. The Chamber will continue connecting with regional and state partners, gathering information, and advocating for Sullivan County’s business community as these conversations develop.
Our goal is simple: keep Sullivan County informed, engaged, and at the table as we look toward the future.
Stay tuned for more information about upcoming forums and opportunities to learn and engage!
