Peptide Facts......
Have you been following the 2 recent reported deaths with Retatrutide? One death was a patient that was given or persuaded to take the drug by a "nurse" and told it was safe.
We get multiple messages and calls asking us if we prescribe this, and the answer is no, but I know plenty of people that are illegally handing out this medication without a license, nurses included, because I hear it from my patients every day when I ask them where they are getting it. I also get asked to prescribe bac water for patients that are getting peptides from "nurses" that are ordering them peptides online and distributing them to patients but not providing the bac water to mix the peptides with. I will not do this either because I will not be responsible for what you are administering off the black market.
I know everyone does this, I see it, and hear about it daily, but I always caution against it.
Anything that comes from my office is compounded and made by one of my legitimate compounding pharmacies, and I know they are all good, safe compounds.
I have personally seen patients in my office with "cardiac" complaints related to injecting black market peptides, or they will come in sick as a result of improperly injecting due to being misinformed by a "nurse" on a wrong dosage.
The problem is, what was in it? Where did it come from? And the answer is who knows.....
Medically supervised weight loss and peptide administration is always the best option, just because someone has a "nurses" license, doesn't mean they know how to prescribe, or should prescribe medicine. Most nurses have a two year associates degree, if they are an RN, and a nurse practitioner, PA, or physician has far more than that. These are the only people that have prescriptive authority.
