A great evening connecting with the South Tampa community at the City Lifestyle fall magazine cover reveal at Evolution on Harbour Island.

Events like this are a good reminder of how valuable it is to stay connected with the people and businesses that make Tampa such a strong community.

I always enjoy the chance to meet new people, support local businesses and keep building relationships beyond the office.

Does your shoulder hurt when you reach overhead.
Before you assume you just need to stretch it, take a closer look at what your body is doing during the movement.
Your shoulder, upper back and trunk all work together when you raise your arm.
If one part is not moving well, another area may start doing more of the work
If this keeps happening, do not ignore the pattern.

You breathe thousands of times every day.

But most people never think about how much their breathing pattern affects the rest of the body.

Your diaphragm, abdominal wall, ribs and back all work together with every breath.

When that system is not moving well, your neck and shoulders may start doing more work than they should.

Better breathing can support posture, low back stability, core control and overall movement.

It is not about taking bigger breaths.

It is about learning to expand through the front, sides and back of your torso and letting your diaphragm do its job.

Why does your knee hurt more going downstairs.

Going down requires your body to control your weight through every step.

Your hip, knee, ankle and foot all play a role.
Pay attention to whether your knee moves inward, whether you shift your weight to one side or whether you drop quickly instead of controlling the step.

Those small details can tell you a lot about how your body is managing the movement.

Slow it down and notice what feels different from one side to the other.
If the same discomfort keeps showing up, it deserves a closer look.

Do your hands go numb or tingle while you work.
It is easy to focus only on the hand or wrist, but your entire working position matters.
Look at your shoulders, your head position and whether your arms are properly supported.
Hours in the same position can affect how your upper body feels and moves.
If the same symptoms keep coming back, it may be time to look beyond the wrist.
Follow me for simple posture and movement tips you can actually use during your day.

Does your body need a few minutes to “get going” every morning?

Feeling stiff after waking up, sitting for a long time, or moving through simple daily tasks can be easy to brush off.
But recurring tightness or discomfort may be a sign that your body is relying on the same movement patterns over and over.
Sometimes, another stretch isn’t the full answer.
At Professor Posture, we look at how your body moves, stabilizes, and adapts throughout the day.

Low back pain doesn’t always mean you need to do more crunches.
Your core is more than just your abs. It’s a system that helps your trunk, hips, shoulders, and pelvis work together as you move. Strength matters, but so does coordination.

If you already spend hours each day in a bent-forward position, adding more repetitive abdominal exercises may not be what your body actually needs.

The goal isn’t just to work your abs harder. It’s to help your body stabilize, maintain balance, and move with better control.

Read the latest Professor Posture blog:
Want a Stronger Low Back? Stop Doing So Many Crunches.

Then ask yourself a better question:
Can my body stay stable while I move?

Does your first step in the morning make your heel hurt?
Heel pain can affect much more than walking. It can change how you stand, train, and move throughout the day.
But the painful spot isn’t always the only thing worth looking at.
Foot control, ankle mobility, and the way you load each step can all influence how much stress your body is managing.
At Professor Posture, we look at how your body moves as a whole to better understand what may be contributing to recurring discomfort.

You train your swing. You train your speed. You train your strength. But how well are you training the way your body moves?...

You train your swing.
You train your speed.
You train your strength.
But how well are you training the way your body moves?
Pro baseball player and trainer Andrew Castano visited Professor Posture to take a closer look at the movement patterns behind performance.
Because strength, speed, and skill can sometimes hide compensation.
A posture and movement assessment can help reveal how your body is standing, rotating, stabilizing, and managing force — all of which can influence how efficiently you move on the field.
The goal isn’t just to train harder.
It’s to move smarter.

The past few days have been all about community, connection, and showing up. 💙

From volunteering at the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce 101 alongside Jennifer Green, Olivia Jones, and Jessica Jaeckel, to welcoming new members like Dave Carson, and joining Jennifer Green for a new member visit with Shore Rose Concierge Health, it's been a wonderful few days of connecting with our community.

I also had the chance to attend the South Tampa Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony at Tropicana Distillery on Florida Avenue, where I connected with Chris Melvin, Shirley Jump, Lynette Ramsey, Heather Aycock, Kennedy Kovacs, Jewel Aardema, and Ben Wade.

One of the things I value most about being involved in the South Tampa business community is the opportunity to support local businesses, welcome new members, and continue building meaningful relationships.

Grateful for every conversation, every introduction, and every opportunity to connect.
