A little rain couldn't stop a great day of giving back ☔❤️

This past weekend, our Genesis Brain Institute team joined the Tarpon Springs community to support Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay at Tarpon Total Health Care's for a Fundraiser.

Even with the rain, the generosity and heart of this community shined through!

A special thank you to Dr. John Hu and the entire Tarpon Total Health Care team for bringing everyone together for such an important cause, helping families when they need it most.

We're grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up for one another, rain or shine ❤️🙏

Is napping healthy? Is drinking caffeine before bed ok if you can fall asleep? Does catching up on sleep on the weekend help?

Genesis Brain Institute's sleep expert Gabriela Vieira, PA-C, answers those questions and more in our recent blog below 🙌

What’s your thoughts on what she shared in this video on sleep as we get older?

It’s Mental Illness Awareness Week. Gratitude does not mean every day is going to be easy. And faith does not mean we never struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, or other mental health challenges.

These challenges touch people of every age and every walk of life. This week, we're thinking about how much it matters to notice one another, make space for an honest conversation, and remind people they do not have to carry a hard season alone.

At Genesis Brain Institute, our faith shapes how we see people. Each person deserves compassion, hope, and care.

Mental Illness Awareness Week ends Saturday, but caring for one another doesn’t. Let’s keep checking in on Sunday, next week, next month, and always ❤

You count your hours of sleep. But do you or your teen know what happens during them?

Sleep is one of the best places to start when you want to improve brain and body performance. Yet we often give it less attention than our workouts, food, or supplements.

We ask, “Did I get enough hours?”

We should also ask, “How well did I sleep?”

In our latest blog, Genesis Brain Institute’s Gabriela Vieira, PA-C, walks through the four stages of sleep and why each matters for your brain and daily performance.

She also tackles questions many of us have:

- Are naps helpful? Does timing matter?
- Is caffeine before bed okay if you can still fall asleep?
- What if you feel fine on just five hours?
- Can sleeping in on the weekend make up for lost sleep?

Some of her answers surprised me. They may surprise you, too.

What I love about this conversation is how practical it is.

It gives you a reason to look closer at your sleep and habits you can start paying attention to tonight.

We spend so much time trying to get more out of our days. Our nights deserve some attention, too.

Read the blog and see what you might be overlooking in your own sleep.

We left Tampa Hope with a heavy heart and a reason to hope the other week.

During our visit, we learned how this emergency shelter helps around 400 people with shelter and support as they work toward permanent housing.

One veteran shared how he came home from serving our country with PTSD and pain. He couldn’t find the help he needed and turned to drugs. Now he’s working hard to rebuild his life, hoping to see his family again one day.

Hearing his story broke our heart.

It also made me grateful for the people showing up to help.

Tampa General Hospital helped fund an OnMed “clinic in a box,” connecting residents with medical care through AI and telehealth.

University of South Florida brings its Mo Bull Nurse Medical Clinic to the shelter.

Metropolitan Ministries helps provide clothing and food.

Different organizations, each bringing something needed.

At Genesis Brain Institute, we left asking: What could we bring?

Could we adapt what we’re doing in schools through the Brain Performance Zone? Could AI and neurotechnology help make brain and mental health support more accessible here?

We have big questions to explore. Those conversations are just beginning.

I love seeing Tampa Bay come together to care for our neighbors.

There is still so much work to do. But behind every person we met was a life worth rebuilding and a Tampa Bay community helping make that possible ❤️

Who knew a basketball gym could turn into a wrestling arena for a cause this good 🤼

Saturday night, Trinity School for Children filled its beautiful new gym with professional wrestling, Tampa families, and our Fire Rescue crews.

It was a big night of fun and support for the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Foundation.

Seeing the crews there with the community they serve made the night even more special. I was glad Genesis Brain Institute could be part of it.

I love Trinity and all they do for our youth and our community. What a night ❤️

What is your why behind what you do? Yesterday was a good reminder of ours.

We hear it over and over from patients at Genesis Brain Institute:
“I finally have hope again.”

That is why we say, “A New Beginning of Hope.”

And that responsibility does not stop at our doors.

We do not believe in blindly handing patients a referral.

We want to visit. Build a relationship. Understand how they care for people. Make sure our values are aligned.

Yesterday, Greg and I spent time with Suma Nair and Anoop Nair at NeuroMov, here in Tampa.

What stood out most was how similar our why is.

Better outcomes. Less fragmented care. An easier path for patients and their families.

Partnerships matter because it is not about us.

It is about the patient and their families ❤️

Only God can heal 🙌🏻

That’s how Gabriela Vieira, our Board Certified Physician Assistant at Genesis Brain Institute and a retired Army veteran, answered the question at The Mac Parkman Foundation’s Subconcussive Summit:

What finally brings someone to the point of reaching out for help and healing?

And God works through us 🙏

But that requires us to let Him lead, open our hearts, and notice the people hurting right in front of us.

Who is God asking you to notice before they reach their breaking point ❤️
