đ Amber leaves drift down
Red tea warms the quiet room
Autumn in my hands đ
Hello, fine feathered friends,
Fall in Florida may take its sweet time, but my tea cup is ready! Itâs officially red tea season aka black tea, as itâs commonly called in the West. Warming, sweet, and energizing, red teas feel like a hug. Thereâs something comforting about their familiar flavors and the memories they evoke. The dark amber liquor color is similar to the leaves that fall (elsewhere of course đ) and the sweetness pairs well with all our favorite fall snacks- ahem.. pumpkin bread.
Fall for Blossom Dearie
I'm very picky about my red teas, all teas actually, but especially red's because they really have to have a special character about them otherwise it can taste like any old black tea. And since we don't serve milk or sweeteners in the teahouse they have to brew balanced and punchy. Meet Blossom Dearie, a red tea from Hualien, Taiwan, with a silky texture and notes of red flowers and honey. Each steep reveals more floral notes that coat the mouth, it's one that makes me say "wow". Blossom Dearie red is currently on our menu, come steep on it!
