Today, we recognize the first responders who do more than answer the call. They help change lives.

First responders have been essential partners in our mission to reduce overdose deaths and create stronger pathways to recovery throughout our region. From the very beginning, their firsthand experiences helped inform our pilot program research, identifying the barriers individuals face in achieving and sustaining long-term recovery. Their perspectives continue to shape our work today.

Through our Behavioral Health & Public Safety Committee and annual Behavioral Health & Public Safety Summit, first responders help bridge the gaps between emergency response, behavioral health services, and recovery support.

We know their work doesn't end when an emergency is over. Their compassion, collaboration, and willingness to be part of the solution makes a lasting difference in our communities.

On National First Responders Day, we thank the men and women who show up every day, not only to save lives but to help build a future where more lives can be changed.
