👀 What happens when everyone can see your prior auth numbers?

For years, utilization management lived behind closed doors. 🚪 Providers felt the delays, but never saw the full picture.

CMS is changing that. Public reporting is coming for:
✅ Approval rates
❌ Denial rates
⏳ Turnaround times

Picture two Health Plans / Payors with similar networks and benefits. One decides faster and more consistently. Which one do providers want to work with? 🏆

In Part 2, Stacy Piszcz explains why transparency exposes weak spots and how it can become a real competitive edge.

⏱️ The clock starts October 15.

Medicare Open Enrollment gives members 54 days to compare coverage and make a choice. For health plans, ACOs, and provider groups, it’s 54 days to get ready for what happens after that choice. 🏈

Because coverage can change in a day. Care doesn’t always follow that fast. 👇

📉 About 1 in 10 Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO members faced forced disenrollment when their plan exited the market
🩺 Members who switched coverage saw more clinician loss and less remote monitoring
📋 Authorizations, medications, and scheduled services can all get caught in the shuffle

So the real question isn’t whether a member made a decision. It’s whether the care already in motion keeps moving on January 1. 🤔

The October edition of Care in Motion walks through the Member Play: how to use attribution data to find who may be affected, reach them before December 7, and be ready when new coverage kicks in.

If you want this edition in October’s paid push, you can add it to the Articles ad set now, since that ad set starts on the 13th.

🏈 THE FULL FIELD 10 is back, and this week has a little bit of everything.

We start tonight with Tampa Bay at Dallas, then college football takes over Saturday with a loaded slate. The Red River Rivalry brings No. 1 Texas and Oklahoma to the Cotton Bowl, No. 21 UCLA heads to No. 13 Oregon, and then the night ends with the one we circled immediately: No. 2 Georgia at No. 6 Alabama under the lights in Tuscaloosa. College GameDay will be there, and this one has all the ingredients for our No. 1 game of the week. ESPN

The NFL gives us plenty to work with too. Philadelphia and Jacksonville meet in London Sunday morning, undefeated San Francisco heads to Seattle for an early NFC West showdown, and Buffalo at Los Angeles gives us a strong Monday night finish. NFL

Here is our Full Field 10 for Oct. 8 to 12:
10 | Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons | Sun. | 8:20 PM ET
9 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys | Thu. | 8:15 PM ET
8 | Iowa State at No. 8 BYU | Fri. | 10:15 PM ET
7 | Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars | Sun. | 9:30 AM ET
6 | Texas A&M at No. 14 Missouri | Sat. | 12 PM ET
5 | Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Rams | Mon. | 8:15 PM ET
4 | San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks | Sun. | 4:25 PM ET
3 | No. 21 UCLA at No. 13 Oregon | Sat. | 3:30 PM ET
2 | No. 1 Texas vs. Oklahoma | Sat. | 3:30 PM ET
🏆 1 | No. 2 Georgia at No. 6 Alabama | Sat. | 7:30 PM ET

Why football? 🏈 Because strategy matters. Communication matters. Timing matters. And the best decisions usually come from being able to see the entire field. Seeing the full field matters in football and healthcare.

Georgia or Alabama? Texas or Oklahoma? And which game did we rank way too low this week? 👇

🚨 Everyone's talking about faster prior authorization. That's not the real story.

The 2026 CMS proposed rule is changing where healthcare decisions happen. ⚡

📲 Electronic prior auth for drugs
⏱️ Faster decision timelines
🔗 FHIR based APIs

Put together, coverage decisions move right to the point of care. The question is no longer "can we share data?" It's "can we make the right call at real time speed?" 🤔

In Part 1 of From Prior Authorization to Real-Time Care, Stacy Piszcz breaks down what CMS is really rewiring and why it goes way beyond compliance.

Healthcare has more data than ever. But more data does not automatically lead to better care decisions.

Providers may still have to search through disconnected records to understand the full patient story. Care managers may still piece together information from multiple sources before deciding what needs attention. Patients may still find themselves repeating information the healthcare system already has.

That is the real challenge. Better care decisions depend on context.

In Morgan’s latest AaNeel blog, we look at why the next phase of connected healthcare should focus less on how much information is available and more on whether that information helps someone understand what should happen next.

The goal is not to surface every possible data point. It is to surface what matters, when it matters, so providers, care managers, and patients can make clearer decisions and move care forward.

🏈 Who called that one?!

Cleveland just knocked off Pittsburgh 27 to 24 on a 56 yard field goal with 10 seconds left, so Thursday Night Football already gave us a little chaos before we even got to the weekend. Cleveland came in as the underdog and moved to 3 and 1 with the win.

Now let’s get to the rest of THE FULL FIELD 10 for Oct. 2 to 5.

This weekend gives us a strong mix of college and NFL matchups. No. 5 Ohio State at No. 14 Iowa gets our top spot in one of the biggest ranked matchups of the weekend. No. 7 Alabama heads to No. 16 Mississippi State, No. 8 Florida visits No. 25 Missouri, and Kansas City at Las Vegas gives us an AFC West matchup between two 3 and 0 teams. AP News

It’s Open Enrollment. But do your members actually have access to the information they need to make an informed decision?

Members are comparing coverage, benefits, provider networks, prescriptions, and costs. At the same time, they are trying to understand something even more personal: their own healthcare experience.

Which providers have they seen? What medications are they taking? What services have they used? What information will follow them if their coverage changes?

That is where interoperability becomes more than a technical requirement.

Better access to claims, coverage, clinical information, and health history can help members better understand their care, ask better questions, and make more informed choices.

For health plans, that creates an opportunity to make transparency and data access part of the member experience, not just something happening behind the scenes.

In our latest AaNeel blog, we look at why Open Enrollment puts an important spotlight on a much bigger issue:

Member choice depends on member access.

🏈 CMS can set the rules of the game. But it takes the entire healthcare team to execute the play.

As interoperability requirements continue to reshape healthcare, readiness cannot sit with one department. Executive leadership helps build the strategy. Clinical leadership connects that strategy to care. Technology, security, and compliance protect the play. Frontline teams create the path that allows care to actually move forward.

Every role contributes something different, and every role depends on the others.

In our latest AaNeel blog, we use the football field to look at what it really takes to turn new CMS requirements into workflows that work for providers, care teams, organizations, and ultimately, the people receiving care. Because meeting the requirement is only the beginning.

The real touchdown is when the right information reaches the right people and helps someone get the care they need. Read blog now: https://www.aaneel.com/cms-interoperability-readiness-whole-team/
