Directions

Keisha.Polonio I now bring healing to my community one therapy session at a time.

Over the past 20 years, I've had the honor of serving vulnerable people whose voices are often unheard as a case manager, sex-trafficking advocate and nonprofit leader.

Yes, I’m a therapist. But there’s a whole Keisha over here, too.

A boy mom, wife, beach lover, loyal friend, taco enthusiast, and perfectionist who’s learning to let some things be good enough.

And yes, that coffee is iced and decaf. Let me enjoy my milk and vibes in peace.

I love what I do. And I’m enjoying sharing more of who I am.

I wonder what little Keish would think if she could see me now.

The life I’ve built. The people I love. The things I’ve survived. And all the joy I still get to experience.

At 46, I’m still trying new things, moving my body, making room for my creativity, and learning to embrace the woman I am. I’m proud of her. I’m grateful to be her.

Some parts of this life look different from what I imagined. There are things I wish I hadn’t had to walk through, but God has met me every step of the way. And today, I feel deeply grateful for where I am.

I spend so much time thinking about what I’m still working on that I sometimes forget to honor how far I’ve come. Looking at that little girl reminds me there is already so much to celebrate.

We made it, baby girl. And we still have so much more living to do. 🤎🥹

It’s giving slow. It’s still giving forward.

Every bit of this pace counts, and I’m learning to let that be enough.

Who needs to hear this today?

Be tender to yourself as you are becoming.

My first 5K is Saturday. Somehow, it’s my SECOND race this year. Who even am I?

I’ve spent years helping people understand that healing isn’t linear. Apparently, my body wanted me to learn that lesson too.

A back injury slowed me down, but it didn’t stop me. I’ve been walking, recovering, and learning when to push and when to rest.

And maybe that’s the grief lesson in all of this.

You don’t have to move fast to move forward.

Anyway, pray for your grievy therapist. She’s out here running on purpose. Again.

There’s something about sitting still, even for a little while, that invites you to feel.

Feel the joy.
Feel the fatigue.
Feel the grief.

Today, I’m feeling all of it.

The changes I didn’t ask for.
The hopes I’ve been praying for.

The ways life has stretched and surprised me.

I feel the shifts in my body as I’ve released 42 pounds.

I feel the shifts in my friendships.

I feel the ways I’m learning to be more honest with myself… more honest about what hurts, what matters, and what I need.

And maybe that’s what healing feels like sometimes.

Not becoming someone new.

Not fixing every broken thing.

Just feeling your life long enough to recognize yourself again.

Maybe healing and growth are really about coming home to yourself.
Again and again.
