Some of us spent decades learning we were worthy of respect. Of being heard. Of having boundaries. Of being treated like we matteredโฆโจ
Because thatโs not what we were shown.
But it doesnโt have to be that way for our children.
When we honour their voice, their emotions, their dignity โ even in moments of discipline, no, especially in moments of discipline โ we give them something so many of us never had.
We teach them they are not too much.โจNot too sensitive.โจNot only worthy when they perform, please, or behave perfectly.
We teach them that their humanity is enough.
And that kind of knowing? It settles deep.โจIt doesnโt desperately try to be proven in every relationship they grow into. It doesnโt need to be longed for, cried for, or fought forโฆ
It just lives in them.
Quietly. Steadily. Powerfully.
What a legacy that is to leave. โค๏ธ
