A beautiful blue butterfly 🦋 paid me a visit last week while in NC. I have never seen one in real life.
They were my best friend’s favorite. This butterfly didn’t just flutter by and go in its way; it first got my attention outside the kitchen window. I sat and admired it for what felt like eternity thinking of my beautiful friend Leanne Ziems.

I then went outside after it flew away and to my surprise within just a moment this beautiful 🦋 was back and hung out next to me in the chair for several more minutes. What a blessing and a sense of peace feeling my best friend’s presence.

You are missed every day beautiful Leanne Ziems
Not one day is the same since you left and as life carries on I miss the many years-decades and beautiful moments we shared.

Today I’m wishing you a Happy Heavenly Birthday Leanne. Even though we were not sisters by blood we were and always will be sisters connected by our hearts. I am forever grateful for our friendship and because of your journey that ended much too soon I found my way to be certified in Functional Nutrition, Neuroencoding, and now a Functional Medicine Practitioner and you are the reason why Wanishi Wellness, LLC was founded being thankful for the life we have and the countless lives that have been healed and changed because of you including my own.
Love without end beautiful 🤍🦋

After the Gift?
What comes next?
Yesterday we talked about giving yourself a gift. If you missed it go back and catch it.

Today was about the next step…
I told you to write your gift down
Today you are to put a smile on your face, say your gift out loud and then celebrate 🙌

Celebrate that you took the next step, you finally gave yourself a gift.
And when you pour from a fuller cup than the day before something shifts. You feel different!

I know many of you won’t do this but for the 1-3% of you Magnificent Beings…(you know who you are)…that give it a shot and do as I suggest. I’m curious what happened.

If you are brave, share it in the comments below. You never know who may read it and it gives them the encouragement to DO it themselves ❤️🙋🏻‍♀️

I love you!
Have a beautiful, blessed day.
See you next time.

A gift just for you can come in unexpected ways.

The Gift of Encouragement is highly underrated!

When you look for opportunities to compliment yourself it builds you up!
Today’s challenge look for 1 thing to compliment yourself for! Write it down.

Tomorrow I’ll give you the next step.

Tonight I had the opportunity to learn from one of my mentors, Paul Martinelli.

One sentence stopped me in my tracks:

“Fear has a name; it’s Norm.”

How often do we accept things simply because they’ve become normal?

* Feeling exhausted every afternoon.
* Living with chronic stress.
* Brain fog.
* Poor sleep.
* Digestive issues.
* Weight that won’t budge.
* Even being told, “It’s just getting older.”

We stop questioning them because they’ve become familiar.

But “common” and “normal” are not the same thing.

As Paul shared, you don’t overcome fear by trying to conquer it all at once.

You reclaim your life one inch of territory at a time.

One healthier meal.
One walk.
One conversation.
One better night’s sleep.
One new belief.

Looking back over the past few weeks, that message hit home for me as I continue my own health journey. More to come on that. I don’t have to solve everything today. I simply have to keep taking back another inch.

What area of your life are you ready to reclaim one inch at a time?

Well… this was not on my morning agenda. 😂

I was outside deadheading my flowers when this praying mantis suddenly jumped out of the planter and startled me!

My nervous system responded before my thinking brain had a chance to catch up—heart jump, body tense, immediate reaction.

And honestly, that is exactly what our stress response is designed to do.

It notices something unexpected, assesses for danger, and prepares us to respond.

The problem is not that we have a stress response. The problem comes when our brain and body continue reacting long after the moment has passed—or begin responding to everyday stressors as though they are true threats.

Once I realized what it was, I paused, watched it climb back up the planter, and appreciated this unexpected little visitor.

A beautiful reminder that we may not always control what jumps into our day, but we can learn to pause, regulate, and choose what happens next.

Stress isn’t the enemy. An unexamined stress response is.

Have you had an unexpected moment recently that made your nervous system jump into action?

How do you answer this question?

I’m curious. Drop your answer in the comments.

And I’ll share mine too.
I didn’t even realize that I allowed a comment someone made to stop me in my tracks from posting as much as I was.
That required a pattern interrupt because the wiring of the past created excuses.

Today I learned a valuable lesson from my mentor.
I get to Pre-frame—-> Re-frame—-> and De-frame.
When I did that I began showing up for myself.

Want to learn more so you too can change the writing on the wall, not change the past. Change the story you have been telling yourself about the past; the unwritten script we have been playing out for too many years and it shows up in sneaky ways.

It shows up and robs you of the things you cherish most.

Make your world the world you want to live in🥰

I got this notice in my 📥
🚨Southeast Michigan Health Alert

And it had me wondering…

Could the fresh produce in your kitchen make you sick?

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is investigating a Cyclospora outbreak affecting Southeast Michigan. While investigators have not yet identified the source, staying informed can help you protect yourself and your family.

Here’s what to know:

🥬 Cyclospora is a microscopic parasite that can contaminate fresh produce.

⏱️ Symptoms typically begin 2–14 days after eating contaminated food.

🤢 Common symptoms include watery diarrhea, fatigue, abdominal cramping, bloating, nausea, and loss of appetite.

💊 The good news? Cyclospora is treatable, especially when recognized early.

While the source of the current outbreak has not been confirmed, previous outbreaks have been associated with foods such as bagged salads, leafy greens, cilantro, basil, green onions, raspberries, and snow peas.

What you can do today:

✔ Wash fresh produce thoroughly under running water.

✔ Choose whole heads of lettuce instead of bagged salads when possible.

✔ Stay hydrated if you become ill.

✔ If symptoms develop, ask your healthcare provider specifically about Cyclospora testing, as it isn’t included in many routine stool tests.

The goal isn’t fear—it’s awareness. When you understand what’s happening, you can make informed decisions for yourself and your family.

❤️ Save this post so you can find it later.

📤 Share it with someone in Southeast Michigan who should see it.

Today we celebrate the freedom our nation was built upon.

But there’s another kind of freedom many people are quietly searching for…

✨ Freedom from exhaustion.
✨ Freedom from chronic stress.
✨ Freedom from brain fog.
✨ Freedom from waking up already overwhelmed.
✨ Freedom to fully enjoy the people you love.

So many high-achievers have become so accustomed to pushing through that they don’t realize their body has been asking for help all along.

Just because stress has become common doesn’t mean it’s normal.

My hope for you this Independence Day is that you don’t just celebrate freedom—you begin creating it in your own life.

May today be filled with gratitude, meaningful moments with the people you love, and the reminder that your health is worth protecting.

Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

The most powerful nervous system reset… isn’t always medicine. 💊🌕

Last night, under the Strawberry Full Moon, I experienced something my nervous system had been craving.

No rushing.
No notifications.
No pressure to produce.

Just moonlight dancing across the water, the rhythm of a paddle, genuine conversation, laughter, and the quiet reminder that our bodies were never designed to live in constant survival mode.

As a Functional Healing Strategist, I spend a lot of time helping people decode the hidden stress patterns impacting their sleep, energy, digestion, mood, and overall health.

And while nutrition, movement, quality sleep, and targeted supplements absolutely matter…

So do moments like this.

Moments that tell your brain:
“You’re safe.”

Because when your nervous system feels safe, your body is better able to rest, repair, and restore.

A huge thank you to Pop Up Paddle Adventures for creating such a beautiful evening on the water. If you ever have the opportunity to experience one of their moonlight paddles, I highly recommend it. 🌕🛶

Now I’d love to know…

✨ What activity helps your nervous system exhale?

Drop it in the comments. You might inspire someone else to create more moments of peace this week. ❤️

We spend so much of life waiting.

Waiting until the promotion.

Waiting until the kids are older.

Waiting until the house is finished.

Waiting until we’re healthier.

Waiting until stress finally goes away.

But here’s what stress quietly steals…

It convinces us that life begins later.

This patio isn’t perfect.

There are still projects to finish.

Flowers to plant.

Furniture to uncover.

Little details we’ll keep changing.

But tonight…

The lights came on.

The chairs were pulled out.

The air was warm.

And I realized…

This is life.

Not someday.

Not when everything is finished.

Right here.

Right now.

Kiss your life.
Accept it just as it is.
Today.
Now.

Because the moments you’ve been waiting for…
might already be happening.

❤️ What’s one small thing in your life today that deserves your full attention instead of waiting for “someday”?
