Wisdom Method

Wisdom Method folx: You may have heard about the changes brewing over at Yoga Alliance.

What say you to these changes?

Y'all heard it a bajillion times from me in training: I wasn't teaching you yoga...I was teaching you how to think.

Does outsourcing creativity and connection to AI, while Yoga Alliance charges us double for the "privilege" --and flattens the value of advanced training -- sit well with y'all?

I know I gave them a teensy piece of my mind: in service to the greater good. {I choose my internet battles well....and they DID ask for feedback. ✌🙃}

What say you? Feel like joining the conversation?

They did ask for it...

More voices = better decisions.

If you feel like adding to the conversation, head over to their page Yoga Alliance.

Much love,

A message for the humans

07/12/2026

Hey yoga friends - Kellie Adkins Coaching here: I’m looking for a nonprofit partner this month and am hoping you can help.

Here's a bit of background:

Centered Survivor is a survivor‑created behavioral health program for people who’ve experienced intimate partner violence-- integrating yoga, mindfulness, somatics, visualizations, and breathwork into a structured IRB‑ready protocol has been achieved.

The efficacy study is complete. The waitlist is full.

The next evolution is bringing this curriculum to the masses (because gender-based violence is a trillion-dollar public health crisis).

The goal? For every woman with a cell phone to heal from SA/DV/IPV.

To that end:

I've built an app and a VR mindfulness program using evidence-based insights from positive psychology, Western neuroscience, and Eastern contemplative science to support survivor recovery (and symptom management) for acute PTSD and C-PTSD.

To unlock grant funding that would leverage this technology, I need a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor aligned with trauma‑informed, evidence‑based services for survivors.

If you are:

-> A nonprofit serving IPV or trauma‑exposed communities
-> A university‑affiliated center focused on behavioral health or victim services
-> A fiscal sponsorship organization supporting survivor‑led initiatives
-> A PhD PI whose area of research intersects with my own

…I’d be grateful for an introduction or a quick conversation.

Please comment, DM, or tag someone who should see this: a survivor's life depends on it.

Dear yoga friends:

Another yoga lineage has been tarnished by its leaders’ depravity. Should you wish to learn more about the Sattva Yoga Academy incidents, please visit the link below. CW: seggsual abuse, grooming, spiritual abuse.

We stand with the survivors who bravely shared their stories here.

Wishing them all peace and justice.

*Wisdom Method yoga has never had any association with Sattva Yoga Academy, nor any of their senior teachers. Please visit the link below for a full detail of the allegations and to read (or not) the victim’s statements.

The world lost a bodhisattva 🙏 Rest in Power, Dr. Thurman 🙏Thank you for the sharing these teachings 🙏

Farewell, dear Bob Thurman.
A giant of Buddhist scholarship, a champion of Tibet, a gifted teacher, and a wonderfully alive human being who loved coming to teach at InsightLA and seeing his grandchildren here. Thank you for your wisdom, your humor, your friendship, and your boundless love for the Dharma ❤️💛❤️
Love, Trudy
