To sum it up, yes piercers use different tools doing a piercing process and sometimes use none at all! We're all comfortable with different techniques and at the end of the day if you got a safe piercing, thats all that matters to us.

It's possible to be pierced with a hoop, but theres a couple key points you should be aware of. Generally I do believe healing with labrets are the easiest choice (for most piercings, keep in mind some piercing require different styles of jewelry and I always opt to pierce daiths and septums with hoop styles) especially when we deal with a tad more swelling living in the Black Swamp.

Even quality body jewelry isn't infallible! Every now and again you should check your jewelry to make sure any threadless piece is on correctly or internally threaded ends are on tight.

I know taper pins can look scary, but theyre just a tool we use for jewelry insertion. They're my go to if Im checking to see if a piericng you havent had jewelry in for a while might still be viable! If you had a piercing for a long enough time for it to be established, there's a chance I just need to use a handy dandy taper to get it up to the jewelry size so you can enjoy your piercing again ✨️
