We see you, we appreciate you, and we are so blessed to have you as part of our Sincere Hospice Care family. 💙🕊️

💙 What happens when/if hospice equipment stops working?

When caring for a loved one at home, the last thing you want is to feel helpless when something unexpectedly goes wrong.

Whether it's an oxygen concentrator, hospital bed, suction machine, or a sudden power outage, knowing what to do and who to contact can make all the difference.

Education is an essential part of providing compassionate care.

That's why we're sharing this simple guide to help patients, families, and caregivers feel more informed and prepared.

💙 A few important reminders:

- Keep your medical equipment provider's contact information easily accessible.
- Know where backup equipment is located and how to use it.
- Communicate equipment concerns with your hospice team.
- Never hesitate to ask questions or request assistance.

Hospice care doesn't stop when our team leaves your home. Support, guidance, and reassurance are all part of the care you deserve.

Please feel free to save and share this resource with someone caring for a loved one at home.

Compassion. Education. Support.

Today’s Senior Resource Expo reminded us why these community conversations matter so much. 💙

Some visitors shared meaningful stories about the hospice teams who cared for their loved ones. Others were surprised by the information on our “Take One, Know One” cards—especially this:

“You don’t have to be actively dying to qualify for hospice.”

We also heard a common misunderstanding: that choosing hospice means moving into an inpatient facility.

At Sincere Hospice Care, we bring care to you—whether home is your own house, assisted living, or a nursing facility. Our team provides visits, guidance, and support for patients and caregivers. Routine home hospice does not mean a staff member stays at the bedside around the clock.

Inpatient hospice is a different level of care, used short term when pain or symptoms cannot be managed in the current setting.

Hospice can also begin long before someone’s final days. Eligibility generally involves a physician-certified prognosis of six months or less if the illness follows its expected course, along with choosing comfort-focused care for the terminal illness.

We understand that hospice can be a difficult subject. Whether you have questions, past experiences, or simply aren’t ready to talk, we respect where you are.

Our hope is to make these conversations easier so more families understand their options before facing a crisis.

Asking about hospice is a conversation—not a commitment. We’re here to listen, answer questions, and help you learn at your own pace. 💙

Give Danae a call at 419.980.8033, she would be happy to assist you and provide clear education and support.

A HUGE thank you to Summit 60 Social Center & Defiance County Senior Services for hosting yet another successful Senior Resource Expo!

We loved connecting with our community, answering questions about hospice and in-home palliative care, and sharing how Sincere can support patients and their families.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to chat, hear about our agency, and learn with us!

Bringing resources together helps our seniors and their families feel informed, supported, and connected. We’re so grateful to be part of it!
