My connection to Epic is incredibly personal.

My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at only 56 years old, and he passed away at 66. Losing him so young changed the way I think about my own health and longevity. I’ve spent years reading, researching and trying to understand the things within my control. How I eat, sleep, exercise, maintain muscle, manage stress and take care of my overall health. More than anything, I want to live a long, healthy life and be fully present for my boys, my family, my friends and the people who depend on me.

When Epic opened, I was 39 and getting ready to turn 40. I had gone through a divorce and a hysterectomy, I was raising two young boys while working full-time, and I just didn’t feel like myself. I was tired, I had gained weight in places I never had before, and emotionally I wasn’t where I wanted to be.

I remember sitting down with Kelsey and basically telling her, “I just want to feel good again.”

I didn’t want turning 40 to feel like the beginning of getting older. I wanted it to be the beginning of becoming the healthiest and strongest version of myself.

Kelsey started by listening. Really listening. We did comprehensive lab work and started looking at the whole picture rather than just one symptom or one number. We found things worth addressing, including my iron and vitamin D levels, hormones and thyroid. We talked about protein, maintaining muscle, exercise, recovery and the things I could realistically incorporate into my life.

That was the beginning of a completely different approach to my health.

Over the last few years, Epic has become so much more than a place I go for an IV or a treatment. Kelsey and Mandy have helped me become intentional about my health in a way I never was before. I’ve used IV therapy, worked with them on hormones and supplements, incorporated things like NAD and creatine into my wellness routine, and continued to monitor my labs and body composition. One thing I’m especially proud of is maintaining my muscle mass as I’ve moved into my 40s, because being strong and active as I age is incredibly important to me.

They’ve also helped me address things I honestly thought I would just have to live with after having children. After my second son, running, jumping or even doing certain exercises could be uncomfortable because of pelvic floor issues. I had tried traditional pelvic floor therapy and understood how important it was, but as a full-time working mom, consistently finding the time was difficult.

The non-invasive pelvic floor and core treatments at Epic have made a tremendous difference for me. I can run, do HIIT workouts, jump and be active with my boys with so much more confidence. Even things like urinary frequency, including waking up multiple times during the night, have improved significantly for me.

One of the things I appreciate most about Kelsey is that she doesn’t just give me whatever new wellness treatment I ask about. I learned that firsthand when I asked her about trying a peptide for gut health. Instead, she basically said, “We don’t even know that you have poor gut health.”

So we tested.

My GI testing uncovered things I never would have expected, and instead of guessing, we had actual information to work from. Kelsey and Mandy helped me through the treatment and rebuilding process afterward and challenged me to try going gluten-free for 90 days.

For anyone who knows me, voluntarily giving up gluten for 90 days might be one of Epic’s greatest accomplishments. 😂 I have never been good with restrictive diets. But I decided I could do anything for 90 days, and I did. I felt less bloated and so much better that, for the most part, I’ve continued with it.

That’s what makes Epic different for me. It isn’t about chasing every trend or trying to make me fit into a certain mold. They educate me, test when it makes sense, explain the why behind what we’re doing and then help me make choices that work for my life.

And my life is full. I’m a mom to two young boys. I run a company. I travel. I love my family and friends. I want to exercise, run around the lake with Kelsey, play with my kids, show up at work with energy and still have something left to give the people I love at the end of the day.

Today, at 42, I genuinely feel better than I did going into 40. I feel strong. I have energy. I want to get up in the morning, exercise, go to work, be a mom, travel and enjoy my life.

When I first walked into Epic, I told Kelsey I wanted to become the best version of myself. What she and Mandy have given me isn’t one treatment or one quick fix. They’ve helped me change the way I take care of myself and the way I think about my future.

I want a long life, but more importantly, I want a healthy, full life. I want to be here for my boys and, God willing, my grandchildren someday. I want the energy to build meaningful relationships, do work I care about, travel, laugh, run, play and really live all of it.

So when I say Epic has changed my life, I mean it.

Because of Kelsey, Mandy and everything they’ve built, I don’t just go to Epic Integrative Wellness.

I get to live a pretty EPIC life. ❤️
