So excited to be a part of this fun and knowledgeable community! It was great to meet the MSU Extension Master Gardeners new Up North cohort in August. That final exam was no joke!! Special thanks to my family for gifting me this certification. Grateful for such an enriched summer.

Come explore your aspirations as you connect with community youth cultivating confidence by setting and reinforcing goals by creating your very own Dream/Vision Board. This SPIN Club is designed to nurture positivity, resilience, mindfulness and creativity through positive encouragement to celebrate your talents and reach for the stars!

Hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers for its beautiful bold bloom and resilience in the heat and rain of summer. As a late summer bloomer it reminds us to take our time with confidence and courage igniting hope and unfathomable faith. What a nice surprise at the garden today. A beautiful blossom of the okra flower. The red okra is well on its way as well. Last year's growth was "medi-okra", to say the least. Grateful for the lesson of perseverance...simply "try again." Sometimes the lesson is the harvest.

We've added another "4-H Fun with Art in the Garden" 6-week session for ages 5-12 years, at the T.C. Community Garden at the Botanic Gardens in Traverse City, Mondays (beginning the Monday after Memorial Day), 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Looking forward to an exciting summer practicing mindfulness and creativity in the garden with our young leaders, artists and gardeners!

Please join us for fun adventures in nature, nurturing resilience, kindness, community & creativity. This youth events are designed to encourage sustainability & growth from the inside out through a fun & engaging hands-on approach. THIS EVENT IS FREE. As the winter garden slowly comes to an end, I am filled with gratitude to have nourished my family, as well as for the challenges and wonderful lessons learned throughout a most frigid season. The snow-kissed purple cabbage had a very sweet and tender taste with subtle earthy undertones. Although both are delicious, there was definitely a difference in taste between the fall/winter and spring/summer harvests. It was also fun to share the winter veggies with our furry friends. Join me in embracing it all!
