Help Our Voices Be Heard By The FDA
Testosterone therapy has not yet been established for women so must be ordered "off label". We typically dose a woman 1/10th of what we would dose a male.
On September 17th, the FDA is holding a public workshop.
Sign up and I'll see you there!Together we can move the needle on women's hormone therapy!

The Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Office of Women's Health and the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research are announcing a public workshop titled "Testosterone Use in Menopausal Women." The purpose of the public workshop is to examine the current scientific evidence and critical knowledge...

🌙 Progesterone: The “Calming” Hormone of HRT

Having trouble falling asleep—or waking up at 2 or 3 AM and staring at the ceiling? Your hormones may be playing a part.

Micronized progesterone, used as part of hormone replacement therapy when appropriate, may help support:

✨ Deeper, more restful sleep
✨ Falling asleep more easily
✨ A calmer nervous system
✨ Less nighttime restlessness
✨ Reduced anxiety and that “wired but tired” feeling

One reason? Progesterone is metabolized into allopregnanolone, a neuroactive compound that interacts with GABA receptors in the brain—the same calming pathway involved in relaxation and sleep.

And for women using systemic estrogen who have a uterus, progesterone also plays an important role in protecting the uterine lining.

Sleep problems during perimenopause and menopause aren't always “just stress.” Sometimes, your hormones are asking for attention. 💚

Better hormones. Better sleep. Better days.

Hormone therapy should always be individualized based on your medical history, symptoms, and risk factors. If you want to learn more sign up for a 15 min Discovery session @ www.marygilbertsonwellness.com

🌿 BITTER HOPS: A NATURAL WAY TO SUPPORT GLP-1?

We hear a lot about GLP-1 medications—but did you know your body naturally produces its own GLP-1?

Bitter compounds found in hops (Humulus lupulus) can activate bitter-taste receptors located in the gut. This “bitter signal” may stimulate the release of natural satiety hormones, including GLP-1, CCK and PYY.

Why does that matter?

✨ Supports feelings of fullness
✨ May help decrease hunger and food intake
✨ Supports healthy glucose regulation
✨ May help make lifestyle-based weight management easier

Think of it as supporting your body's own gut-brain appetite signaling system.

Important: Bitter hops are not equivalent to GLP-1 medications, and the effects are much more modest—but the emerging research on using bitter compounds to enhance our natural satiety pathways is fascinating.

Your gut isn't just digesting food—it's communicating with your metabolism all day long. 🌿

-I developed a hormone tool for women in perimenopause and menopause to help determine what symptoms were creating health problems and which hormones are responsible.
-Are you suffering from any of these symptoms? Many women suffer needlessly when help is available. I use bio-identical hormones made from all natural substances that are peer reviewed, FDA approved, and healthier for your body.

This is my favorite supplement stack! It's the core foundation of any nutrition plan.🌿

If I could only choose a handful of supplements for overall health, these would be at the top of the list:

✅ Vitamin D3 + K2 – Supports immune function, bone strength, heart health, and helps direct calcium where it belongs—in your bones, not your arteries.

✅ Omega-3 Fatty Acids – Powerful anti-inflammatory fats that support your heart, brain, joints, eyes, and overall cellular health.

✅ Perfect Aminos® (Essential Amino Acids) – The building blocks of muscle, hormones, enzymes, neurotransmitters, and tissue repair. They help preserve lean muscle, improve recovery, and support healthy aging.

✅ A High-Quality Methylated Multivitamin – Helps fill nutritional gaps while providing vitamins in forms your body can readily use, supporting energy production, detoxification, brain health, and methylation.

These supplements don't replace a healthy diet—but they provide a strong nutritional foundation that allows your body to function at its best. Before chasing the latest "miracle" supplement, make sure your fundamentals are covered.

Remember: Supplements should be individualized based on your health history, medications, lab work, and personal goals. What works for one person may not be right for another.

💚 Build your health on a solid foundation first. Everything else works better when your body has the nutrients it needs.💪

Thought this was so important to share!
-At 64.5 years of age I decided to go on HRT. I was still within the 10 yr window (although this is not a determining factor to whether or not you can begin therapy).
-Three months ago I added a tiny (1 mg) dose of Testosterone to my HRT treatment. I compared an In-Body BIA (body impedence scale)I did in 2020 with one I did today.
- I have added 3 pounds more muscle and decreased my body fat by 5% simply by adding testosterone. My gym workouts have improved also. This was the heaviest weight I have lifted since my early 50's!!
-If you want to improve your body composition, gain strength, improve your cognitive function, bone, and cardiovascular health, you may want to give BHRT a try. Contact me if you would like to know more. www.marygilbertsonwellness.com

From Dr William Wallace-LinkedIn- Masterful!!❤️

Every vitamin performs a defined biochemical function. When that function is compromised, downstream systems are affected. This maps vitamins not as abstract “nutrients,” but as biological operators embedded across skeletal, immune, neurological, hematologic, and connective tissue systems. ⬇.....

Benefits of Fiber Therapy
Recommended (RDA) of fiber per day: 30-35 g. Start slow and increase gradually to avoid gas & bloat ( unless you are already used to ingesting 30 g).

Fiber gets treated as nutrition advice and rarely as a mortality intervention. The meta-analysis data suggests it should be both. The 2024 Ramezani systematic review in Clinical Nutrition pooled 64 prospective cohorts totaling 3.5 million subjects. Comparing highest fiber consumers to lowest: - All-...
