This first Friday we’re having a party!

We’re celebrating this November 6th, and you are invited. As a thank you to all of you who have made Haunted Hands the wonderful place that it is, we’re hosting a Fall Client Appreciation party. We couldn’t be here without you and so as a thank you we would love it if you would come on by for an evening of mingling, art, and high fives. We’ve got door prizes for everyone, including a few limited edition prints and other goodies. Also, we will be unveiling a whole new line of shirts; each artist is getting in on the action with their own new design, we’ll show those off as we get closer to the day.

So save November 6th for our little shindig, and come on down from 4-8.

Have you seen the elusive gila monster out in the wild?

Gila monsters are one of those bucket list must see desert animals that people go years without seeing until one day you just stumble across one lazily crossing your path. Victor (Victor Macias) does a wonderful job capturing the chaotic beauty of their patterns in this gila monster tattoo using his folk art stylization.

Lisa (Lisa Cardenas Art) loves to focus her tattooing on the wildlife of the Sonoran Desert and their habitat. She blends abstract shapes with soft shading to bring the desert to life in each piece. This sphinx moth life cycle progression done by Amanda (Amanda Timmerman) is a beautiful look at one of the deserts important pollinators. The hornworm lives for a few weeks before dropping onto the ground and enters its pupa stage buried under leaf litter or loose soil and can remain dormant there for a couple weeks or over the winter where it’ll emerge as the sphinx moth that has become so common a sight of Tucson summers.

Amanda has captured the three main phases of their life cycle in black and grey, having added the caterpillar and pupa stage to the already healed moth she completed several months prior. This gives a great look at what her work looks like fresh and how you can expect it to look come the following years.
