October is Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month ( ), and weโd like to highlight the very best in the field: mobile sonographers, AKA ultrasound technologists in portable diagnostics (specifically ours ๐).
A sonographer/ultrasound technologist must not only be fully knowledgeable in the realms of anatomy, clinical assessment, image capture, pathology, and the principles behind soft tissue evaluation โ with all the unimaginably subtle detail that all of this includes โ but must also deploy a high degree of problem-solving skill.
Where the path diverges and elevates for mobile sonographers, who work out in the field, is the sheer diversity and unpredictability of their imaging environments while working with care teams from across the spectrum and with non-ambulatory patients...on a daily basis. Whatever the setting and circumstance of the last exam, the next will be completely different and will require a rapid-fire assessment to ensure the highest quality imaging possible. Never mind whatever the weather brings in between those exams.
On top of this, being a mobile sonographer means being fully certified in and clinically trained โ rigorously โ in each exam. This is not the position for a fresh graduate or someone who lacks the specific credentials and training!
You can see how much creativity, passion, expertise, and communication is required, a recipe that calls for the maximum in each category. Thatโs why weโre proud to highlight both the work they do and the fact that we have the opportunity to work alongside them. THANK YOU for all you do!
