Your Skin Shouldn't Burn to Prove Your Skincare Is Working

More exfoliation isn't better. For most people, 1–2 times per week is enough.

Burning, persistent redness or excessive peeling may mean you've compromised your skin barrier rather than improved your skin.

Are You Planning Ahead?

The holidays feel far away until suddenly they aren't.

If you want your treatments settled before family photos, Thanksgiving, holiday parties, Christmas or New Year's Eve, now is the time to start planning backward from those dates.

SkinPen Microneedling: If you want to complete a series, start early. Treatments should be spaced at least four weeks apart. Chemical Peels: Fall is a great time for corrective treatments, but the Smart TCA Peel requires approximately 5–7 days of downtime. Schedule around parties, photos and travel.

Filler: Give yourself a few weeks before an important event so swelling or bruising has time to subside and your results can settle.

Botox, Dysport or Xeomin: Schedule at least two weeks before your event. It can take the full 14 days to reach the final result.
