Is your sleep routine helping your heart?

When you get a good night's rest, your blood pressure naturally goes down, giving your heart a much-needed break. Getting fewer than 7 hours of quality sleep regularly can keep your blood pressure elevated longer and strain your cardiovascular system over time.

Try these simple bedtime habits to support your rest:

Remove electronic devices: Keep TVs, computers, and smartphones out of the bedroom to reduce blue light.

Set the environment: Make sure your room is quiet, dark, relaxing, and at a comfortable temperature.

Move during the day: Getting exercise during the day helps your body fall asleep faster at night.

Watch what you consume: Avoid heavy meals, caffeine, and alcohol close to bedtime.

How many hours of sleep do you usually get on a busy weeknight? Let us know in the comments!
