Loaded Cossack Squat πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί.

Another Cossack squat. Horror filled mobility challenge. Wide stance with light weight to push your mobility and build adductor strength and single leg strength. Prep the adductors and dorsiflexion in the ankle for this dreadful exercise ☠️.

Loaded Pistol Squat to Box 🦡.

Pistol squat makes its return. Here’s a loaded variation with less mobility demands to make your quads screech 😱. Pick a surface height where you can control your motion down and up. Try not to push your hips back to take away from your quad. Push that knee over toe. Load up wisely to challenge that single leg strength!

The rest of the month is full of challenging variations πŸŽƒ. Make sure you warm up well and do your best with these scary squats!

Gladiator Bulgarian Split Squats πŸ›‘οΈβš”οΈ.

Adding an extra twist to yesterdays Bulgarian split squats. You will squat all the way down reach across the body and then stand all the way up. You will do that both sides. When weight returns to first position that counts as a rep. This across the body motion adds a spooky twist to challenge your glute medius. Pick your weight wisely 😈.

Hips, quads, glutes and hamstrings will dread these.

πŸŽƒ31 DAYS OF SQUATOBER- DAY 20πŸŽƒ

Bulgarian Split Squats πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬.

An old school split squat that will make every part of your leg dread the work. Use a box, bench, platform, or roller to place your back foot on. Focus on deep range of motion and working the front leg hard. Add weights to make those legs scream 😱.

Tips: make sure you have a good split between the feet to work hamstrings, glutes and quads. Closer to the box the more quad work you will get. Think about having your feet wide like train tracks not on a tight rope.

πŸ‘»31 DAYS OF SQUATOBER - DAY 19 πŸ‘»

Bosu Ball Pistol Squats βš–οΈ.

Another variation of pistol squats to keep those legs strong and mobile. Moving into a hands free pistol squat. The bosu ball will challenge balance, but will take ankle mobility out the equation. This will allow you to sit deep and get that knee bending 🦡. Practice on the Bosu ball before diving into these ghoulish single leg squats ☠️.

Tips: Make sure you warmup the knees and hips before attempting these deep single leg squats.

πŸŽƒ31 DAYS OF SQUATOBER- DAY 17πŸŽƒ

Ring Assisted Pistol Squats πŸ”«.

Getting into the scary challenging variations. Pistol squats are a true single leg squat. Use rings, straps, pvc pipe or hang onto a rack to help you keep great form and balance while challenging single leg control and balance. Use up all your mobility and sit as deep as capable. Make sure you rely on the knee pushing forward to get a scary good burn in the quads πŸ”₯.

πŸ‚31 DAYS OF SQUATOBER - DAY 16πŸ‚

Back Squat. πŸ‘‘

The king of squats makes its appearance. The ultimate exercise for leg strength, posture, core stability and hip mobility. Start with a doable weight and sit as deep as your form allows. Do a lot of reps with light weight for a good burnπŸ”₯! Load up the weight with less reps to get those legs strong πŸ’ͺ!

Tips:
-Bar Placement: Make sure bar is not resting on neck and vertebra but rather on the traps. Bring your shoulders back to create a shelf for the bar.
-Foot position: Feet should be hip width or wider (depending on your body). Push your whole foot through the floor and drill feet in and act like you are pulling the floor apart.
-Knee tracking and hips: Knees and hips need to move at the same rate. Hips move back as knees travel forward. Knee should track over the second toe as best you can. Don’t let those knees cave in!
-Bracing and breathing: To help support posture and keep good positioning we need to have a good active brace. Before your Squat take a deep breath in and hold tight in your stomach. Hold the breath on the way down and gently breathe out on the way up!

πŸ‚31 DAYS OF SQUATOBER - DAY 15πŸ‚

ATG Split Squat. 🦢

A spooky variation of split squats that really challenges your mobility. Goal is to push your knee over your toes as much as your mobility allows. Don’t have to sit as deep as Nate, but push your mobility and strength!

Tips: Take 3-5 minutes to stretch your ankle, hip flexors, and hamstrings before jumping into this split squat.

πŸ‚31 DAYS OF SQUATOBER - DAY 12πŸ‚

Split Squat πŸ––.

Another single leg biased squat. Similar to a lunge, this variation will challenge both legs and hit your quads, hamstrings, glutes and hips! Challenge your balance and legs with this sneakily hard squat. πŸŽƒ

Tips: Make sure you have an appropriate distance between front and back leg to allow a deep knee bend. Also think about having your feet on train tracks instead of a tight rope to keep balanced.
