I started this journey as a labor and delivery nurse. After many years watching new moms interact with their newborns I decided to specialize in breastfeeding education. I believe moms have a choice how they feed their babies, I do believe breastmilk is better for infants than formula. Having said that I also believe ALL BABIES NEED TO BE FED. THAT MEANS FEEDING YOUR BABY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN NOT FEEDING, NO MATTER HOW YOU CHOOSE TO FEED. again it is your choice how you feed your baby, This practice exists to assist those who choose to breastfeed to achieve their goal. It is my job to provide education and assistance not to determine your preference for how you choose to feed your baby.

Do you feed you toddler this?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an urgent nationwide warning advising consumers to immediately discard all flavors, varieties, lot codes, and expiration dates of Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars due to a potentially fatal choking hazard. The federal agency and the manufacturer initiated this comprehensive recall following multiple harrowing reports of toddlers aged 18 months to 2.5 years suffering complete airway obstruction and total inability to breathe. Crucially, health officials warn that when these bars are chewed, they can morph into a dense, dry, and sticky mass that severely compromises normal swallowing. In a terrifying turn for parents and emergency caregivers, standard lifesaving choking interventions—including repetitive back blows and the Heimlich maneuver—have reportedly failed to dislodge the sticky obstruction, with several incidents resulting in emergency medical response and urgent hospital observation. Parents who have purchased these snacks from nationwide retailers like Costco, Target or Walmart are urged to destroy them immediately to prevent further tragedy.

🚩The recall on Once Upon a Farm Toddler Soft-Baked Bars demands strict attention due to the unique, critical nature of the choking hazard. Check out the comments section for more information for consumers. Take great care of yourselves!

Establishing and Maintaining a Robust Milk Supply: Essential Tips for New Mothers. Historically, breastfeeding was the norm, with limited alternatives available. However, with the increasing trend of returning to work soon after delivery, many mothers are now relying on pumping to store breast milk for later use. Unfortunately, pregnancy and breastfeeding education have taken a backseat, leaving many unaware of how to build and maintain a healthy milk supply. The key to a plentiful milk supply lies in frequent emptying, which involves feeding the baby on demand, ideally every 2-3 hours around the clock. It's essential to note that hormone levels supporting milk production are elevated between midnight and 4 am, making it crucial to avoid skipping nighttime feeds or pumps.
To ensure a robust milk supply:
feed on demand every 2-3 hours.
if not directly breastfeeding, pump when the baby feeds.
Additionally, invest in a good primary pump, as portable pumps should only serve as a backup or for convenience, especially during the first few weeks.
